Interesting day and year of boxing. Cant wait to see what tonight holds.
Lopez takes an L
Berto takes an L
Hasegawa gets stopped
Lemeuix gets exposed
DeGale shows he was overhyped
Good year.
because they are protected. And their records are protected. You lose in boxing today, you are looked at as inferior. You lost in boxing in the old days, and it just meant that your next fight would have to be sooner than you planned.
very true!
Thats called a reach kid. Nice try though.
Um whats your point? Because my point is that has been a fun, crazy year for boxing.
What was yours?
This wasn't fun and crazy to you?
Oh well, i guess i withdraw my nomination.
Did you see him celebrate early when they said and still undefeated?
hahahahaha
priceless
That was priceless, to be honest I thought they had inside info. I seen Jim Mcdonell in the ring after the fight beside him looking at his phone then DeGale put his arms in the air, then Mcdonell put his finger to his lip telling him to keep it quiet (thats what I thought anyway) so I feared the worst thinking they had the result.
Was so funny seeing him jump around then compose himself just to hear the words Saint George
What are you talking about? Degale was extreamly impressive up until this point and Groves known as brawler showed he is versatile and has very good boxing skills.
DeGale had beaten limited opposition, showing that he still fights with amateurish tendencies.
Groves fought limited opposition as well, and has struggled at times.
Both have shown leaky defenses, Groves in particular. All in all, the skills just aren't there IMO.
it tells me that a lot of these younger fighters are not that good and have SO MANY WEAKNESSES!
it was actually PATHETIC watching Groves and DeGale just look over at the ref and stop fighting when they would tie up, NO TYPE OF FIGHTING INSIDE WHAT SO EVER and it is not just them, it is so many younger fighters today who are extremely weak when it comes to fighting inside, for some reason they think when they are in a Clinch, they are suppose to just stop fighting and wait for the Ref :nonono:
Wow good call. Forgot about those.
Would you consider Pascal beating Hops an upset? I would.
Na, men Hopkins is old as fukk, I would not be surprise if Pascal KHTFO!!!
Because he's not. Neither were impressive tonight nor had they looked impressive in their previous fights.
That's JMO.

You forgot Vazquez jr, Vera whopping Mora, Ishida whooping kirkland!!!
Its been a a year full of upsets!!!

LOL you do know when 2 people fight someone usually has to lose.
-Juanma losing was bullshyt
-Lemieux will probable be a better fighter after the loss.
-Berto vs Ortiz was a great fight there really was no favorite.
-Hasegawa got beat by a better fighter
-Degale vs Groves was an even fight between 2 promising prospects that usually doesn't happen until both guys. That fight was good for boxing

Of course it doesn't, but some posters on here thought DeGale was the future and some kind of monster.
That's the problem round here. One loss and everyone jumps ship, one win and the fighter is the GOAT.
Why can Groves just be a monster also?
Because he's not. Neither were impressive tonight nor had they looked impressive in their previous fights.
That's JMO.
Of course it doesn't, but some posters on here thought DeGale was the future and some kind of monster.
Prime Example: This poster said this in response to me saying that Ward will be the greatest 168 pounder next year.
Neither will Roy Jones
And neither will Andre Ward.
In fact, there will be no discussion....

James "Chunky" DeGale is the future GOAT.
You can't stop destiny.
