Calzaghe has never fought anyone remotely close with a prime RJJ's reflexes, power in both hands, speed he would lose via UD but not a walk in the park for Roy. the guy getting beat up up slaps just shows me Roy's decline was more pronounced than Calzaghe's decline

If Roy had stopped fighting at age 36 like Joe did, this wouldn't have been a discussion. If Calzaghe kept on fighting through the age of 42 like Roy has, we don't how many losses would he have suffered. We do know however, that Roy has been past prime since age 34. They were both great fighters. Roy, prime, greatER. It's not much of a contest. Roy's losses to Cal and Lebedev both meant about nada to loser or winner.

C'mon, who has Roy beat? A 28 year old Hopkins? a 26 year old James Toney? John Ruiz? Antonio Tarver? Felix Trinidad? Montell Griffin? Virgil Hill? Joe Calzaghe beat a 43 year old Hopkins, Mikkel Kessler and Jeff Lacy! Roy beat Lacy too, but Lacy was only a mere shell of his former self at that stage, no longer the great champion he was when he battled Calzaghe. So clearly, Kessler is the reason Calzaghe is the greatest. Sure, Ward dominated Kessler, but you must remember Kessler was just an old and shot man, not the same monster that Calzaghe tamed.

Really no point on ranking old fighters higher than other fighters.
