I think jmm should fight junior witter at 144 lbs or 140 lbs to prove he is effective above 135 lbs.
witter isn't dangerous enough to ruin the fight against pac in nov, but he's dangerous enough that he'll give jmm some rounds.
who do you think jmm should fight?
Fight Judah, its not a tune up but he's a very good southpaw with power and speed similar to Manny. and its win / win for Marquez, he beats Judah that's a great name coming up to 140 and a new title, and even if he loses he still gets to fight Manny. nothing to lose, everything to gain
Zab Judah. The best tune is up to still fight somebody on the elite level. Judah is still a world class fighter at 140. I would like him to fight Judah and get that 4th world title before a fight with Pac. You know how epic that would be?
I want Judah to Khan too but either fight works. He probably won't fight Judah, so hopefully it's a decent fighter, somebody better then David Diaz. I would much rather have Humberto Soto in front of him. He at least is a decent fighter. But he's acting all sorts of stupid lately so that probably won't happen.
agree with Judah because JMM can make history if he wins. However Judah is certainly no slouch and the fight will not be in Mexico.

This is probably a lil better than a tuneup, but I'm with you on this fight. Judah has too much power to risk it tho - but that would add some luster for sure. i really want to see this fight too lol
Stylewise, he should probably face a southpaw at the very least, hopefully someone with quickness. Like the guy he fought before Pac 2...Terdesek Jaendeng, that was a good tune-up......DAvid diaz is just so dang slow to really prepare JMM outside of being southpaw.
The whole point of this tune up is to take on alow risk opponent & work out any ring rust Judah & Morales cannot be regarded as low risk man.
Having said that the fight does need to take place north of 140 or its a pointless exercise
I think JMM/Judah is the perfect fight. If he can't get past Judah who has similar attributes, then just forget about Pac
i seond this, but i know jmm aint gonna take it....judah has a good chance of an upset.......aint worth the risk but id love this fight.....
Sadly I think Judah beats him. Hes just not built to be good above 135. Thats his limit.
I'm not one to question another man's limit, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
Its clear though that whatever enchiladas that Nacho was feeding isn't the best way to pack on pounds. I think if he's smarter with how to add muscle to his frame while keeping his speed and movement, he'll be fine.
moving up 2 weightclasses for the first time is a big jump. Perhaps the second go around would allow them to learn from their first mistakes

He already tested himself at WW aginst Floyd. Did you watch the fight? He was slow, bloated, fat and his timing was off. Footwork was gone and head movevement non existent.
We already saw how he looked at WW. Hes NOT effective we know that. You know that.
To answer the topic.
Judah at 140
McCloskey at 140
Guerrero at 140
DeMarco at 140
how many people actually look good against floyd though ?
Erik Morales should never be regarded as a tune up, that is blasphemous!
Morales is a great fighter, I saw his last fight against Maidana and I actually believe that he won that fight.
Still, he showed that he's not a young boxer anymore, he run out of gas in the last rounds and that's why the judges gave Maidana the fight. Right now JMM is faster and has way more stamina than Morales.
A few years ago that would've been an amazing fight.
