Yet DeGale gets so much more hype, It's weird because I think DeGale is a great prospect too and I think everyone seems to forget that Cleverly is so young.
I saw DeGale fighting after all the talk about him, and I see he's a very good boxer, for a guy with 10 pro fights. I like his style. His personality helps as well, mix in the gold medal and you see why the guy is so hyped. I'll be rooting for him vs Groves.
The division is whack
Dawson is the only good one
At Light-Heavy?
I think Hopkins, Pascal, and Cloud deserve a mention as well. Diaconu is not bad either. With Dawson, that's at least 5 good/notable fighters in LHW which is more than what many other divisions can say.
division isnt as wack as u make it seem. but with taht said, all of the top guys are either here or in canada, well with the exception of the road warrior
Yea it is
Pascal is one of the worst legit lineal champs
Hopkins is gonna be done soon
Cloud is just a rough, not that good
And glen is at 168and also old
Dawson is the only good fighter

if he hopes to get any kinda fame in a deep division, hes gonna have to come to the other side of the pond one way or another.

DeGale is the real deal. I just hope he fights the toughest opponents after Groves. The thing about DeGale is, he may want to be champ, but he loves London, and wants to stay there. So he doesn't have that same drive to make it in the States, like a lot of other fighters have.

DeGale's been a pro for 2 years, and Cleverly for 6. Cleverly was still finding bums in his second pro year, which is nothing to be ashamed of at all, but DeGale is arguably a contender for a title already. If he beats Groves, he'll probably end up fighting against a guy like Sartison for a paper title.
Oh and Gold Medal/Limitless Potential/Switch-hitter/Personality...
And he balanced that with a degree is something as boring and taxing as Pure Mathematics.
I mean, he got a 2:2 which is a bit average. But still. He could be an accountant on good money not getting punched in the face.
DeGale has a vocabulary of about 7 words and 6 of them are: D'you know what I mean?' Although to be fair if he wasn't a boxer I could see him working in T-Mobile.
