According to Dan Rafael, Paul Williams vs Nobuhiro Ishida is off. Williams will still be fighting on that card, but against a TBA opponent. I'm guessing HBO took the hint after being s**ted on for accepting such a mismatch for a main event.
Hopefully the new opponent is Dzinziruk. But Paul wasn't interested before, so I doubt it.
HBO changed their minds. It had nothing to do with Paul. Plus Ishida is FAR from a big puncher. Kirkland just has a bad chin, possibly because he wasn't in shape. That showed in the previous fight, where he was rcked by a journeyman.
Kirkland was in shape. He pretty much fought once a month on every gb card since he came back.they built his comeback too fast
He stated it matter-of-factly kind of how he stated this most recently and never came back to this asinine statement in regards to defending Lebedev accepting the RJJ fight:
That's sigworthy.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: hes so deluded.
So do you go to www.allboxing.ru and translate into English?
If that was my only option to see who I was actually fighting before signing on the dotted line I think I would. :slap:
What language is BoxRec in?
Russian: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=ru&u=http%3A%2F%2Fboxrec.com%2Flist_bouts.php%3Fhuman_id%3D1758%26cat%3Dboxer&act=url
Now you're being ridiculous. When all else fail, you resort to that. :nono:
If you look at the Russian boxing sites like allboxing.ru you'll see while there's a lot of detail about Russian boxers, there really isn't much about American fighters.
Same as on American sites like ESPN, there's a lot about American and American-based boxers, but not much detail about Russian boxers.
They can't click this link and see he's shot?: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=1758&cat=boxer
They can't use YouTube in Russia?
Do you think these Russians you constantly defend are fucking stupid?
Lebedev, his trainers, his managers, and his promoters have to know who they are facing. You just keep digging your hole even deeper.
Instead of just owning up to your backwards statements you just keep on diggin'.
Now you're being deceptive. You know as well as I do how the business of boxing works. Without HBO or Showtime TV money, Duva couldn't afford any better opponents.
If they would have had Adamek on HBO, then he would have fought better opponents. But they didn't return Kathy Duva's telephone calls.
Heavyweights they could afford with HBO subsidies would not draw ratings. Only hardcore boxing fans in the US are gonna watch a fight like Adamek vs Helenius. HBO has covered numerous Klitschko fights in the past and they are consistently disappointed with their ratings. Personally I'm glad they dropped them. I don't like subsidizing a bunch of crappy fights.
Download Berto-Ortiz in HD, and watch for the expressions on the faces of Davis and Greenburg when Ortiz knocks down Berto in round six. Who were they rooting for? :)
I don't have a clue what either looks like.
Greenburg has made him wait many months since that upset win over Caballero. No doubt, he expects Broner to beat Litzau.
Made him wait? WTF is Litzau's promoters job? That's like saying it's Greenburg's fault Paul Williams has had to wait so long.
There's no agreement for Klitschko-Adamek to be on HBO. If you are correct, why don't you post a link. :)
I've never said it's agreed to, I was talking Sergio. HBO has said they are interested in Vit-Tomasz
No, it isn't.
American boxers are not covered in much detail in Russia. They know he's old, like they know Hopkins, Vitali and Holyfield are old, but they are not really aware of how shot Roy is.
Nice to know you can read Lebedev's mind, know the tapes he's seen, and know he's never looked at BoxRec before.
Didn't know we had a mindreader on NSB...
Adamek was supposed to LOSE to Arreola, like Litzau was supposed to lose to Caballero. He was there as an opponent against a big, strong HW who Greenburg believed would beat him. It was a Goossen event in California, with Jack Reiss as referee. They wouldn't have Adamek on after that, HBO ignored Kathy Duva's telephone calls.
Who has Adamek fought since Arreola worthy of being on HBO? There is a reason none of his fights have been on Showtime or ESPN since that fight. If Greenburg really thought nipples was gonna win he's stupider than we all think he is.
Of course Litzau was an opponent against Caballero, I didn't think he had a shot. Even though he'll be an opponent he's gonna be on HBO again (and I think could win again)...
No, Adamek-Vitali is official and there's two pressers next week:
I know that fight is official, I'm talking TV deals. I bet it's on HBO.
HBO has already scheduled Sergio Martinez for Oct 1:
That date isn't official and neither is an opponent. He's got an agreement with HBO as far as I know.
Ross Greenburg must have thought Ishida is too dangerous, after what he did to one of his favorites, James Kirkland.
They'll likely get some welterweight or light welterweight to move up and fight the 6'3" Williams at 154.
It was rotten of of Greenburg to do this to Ishida, offer him the fight, get his hopes up, and than decide against. :nonono:
Not going to happen. Wolak is an exciting white boxer, Greenburg & Davis don't like him for that reason.
Why did you duck me the other day when I pointed out, contrary to what you posted, HBO will likely NOT be showing Adamek-Vitali?

Damn. KO's and Ls have to be translated to various languages? That explains a lot.
Pot kettle black.

But Lebedev doesn't even read or speak English, so he's not really aware of how shot Jones is.

Wasn't HBO gonna buy Cotto-Wolak/Martirosyan? Oh, and let's not forget about Yuri Foreman. All white boxers.

Do you have any evidence of this? Everything I've read suggests they are interested. They showed Adamek beating up Arreola just like everyone knew he would.
It's probably not official yet because that fight isn't until September, while the mythical Haye fight is less than 2 months away. HBO rarely schedules fights much further ahead than that.
Good. I didn't like the match-up in the first place. Fight a legit opponent or don't fight at all. Dude wants to make a $1m purse and fight an ESPN2-type fight. Fuck that, Most avoided man in boxing-my ass. Don't disrespect the sport and fight a legit opponent on such a high platform as HBO.
I agree completely, the only fighter that gets away with that kind of $hit is Pacman.
