Khan is talented but I don't think he strikes fear into anybody. I know Bradley is dealing with a contractual issue with Shaw, but I don't know what's holding up the fight. I'm skeptical about Bradley "ducking" Khan, I mean why would he?
You said Khan won't move up without fighting Bradley. That just isn't true. Hell, Bradley might move up to WW shortly himself. We all thought Bradley wanted Khan at JWW so we obviously have little idea what the hell Bradley's camp actually wants.
They want to be treated fairly,Bradley wants fights promised for the future(aka contracts)Bradley also wants to be done with Shaw..That's what Bradley wants,it's very clear bro..That can't happen now so in time it will..Bradley is not landing that Pac fight unless JMM does something really dumb(I don't see that happening either)...Bradley wil most likely fight Maidana or Morales and Khan will fight Judah(Khan fighting The Ghost makes no sense at this point)then the winners will fight to make a champion at Jr WW..This is business and in business you never leave money on the table, which is what Bradley would be doing if he fought Khan at this moment..
Three reasons come to mind.
1. Too Much Risk, Not Enough Reward. If you look at it, he could fight a bum and make only 100K less than if he fought Amir Khan. What would be the point to that? I think he acknowledges that this is a big and risky fight. Therefore, not being paid more for a fight that means more and will take more of him as a fighter just doesn't make sense.
2. Manny Pacquiao. Manny was looking for an opponent. So, it makes sense to have waited it out and see what was happening. Makes sense. Though, I think he should have realized that he wasn't seriously in the running.
3. Negotiating Tactics. Leave your options open when you're about equal with a guy like Amir Khan in most ways and you have a shot of getting chased. By that, I mean, Amir's side looks like the side that wants the fight more. It leverages you in the negotiations. Still, I think this has about run dry and both deserve a 50/50 split at this point. If there is a rematch, the winner should get the lion's share. That's how close this fight is.
Not the best reasons, necessarily. However, not the worst. They are young. If the fight is scheduled and happens before March of next year, it won't be such a bad thing. However, after that it becomes quite trivial.
because the khan fight is too risky, he wants a big payday from pacquiao (he probably won't get it though). but im sure timmeh will fight khan in the future, its a fight that has to happen.
btw im sick of all these idiots saying khan "low-balls" fighters and doesn't offer them any money when so many of khan's opponents get career high paydays! and btw khan is not the one offering the money to bradley for this fight, its HBO that do that
That isn't fair. Khan hasn't fought too many high profile fighters. Khan could lowball the ish out of McCloskey or Oisin Fagan and it would still be the biggest payday those guys ever get offered. McCloskey has no chance to earn anywhere close to this amount without Khan. Bradley has already made big bank and doesn't need Amir to do it again. It's called leverage.
Who said anything about forever??Khan is not accomplished at LW and he is really not that accomplished at Jr WW..He needs to fight Judah get that belt then will have a big fight with these guys for all the belts..Just because a fight does not happen when we(the fans)want it everyone is ready to jump out of the window..
Look around what's at WW??Ortiz, noway GBP is making that fight bro..Other then that what else is there??Berto??Maybe..But Khan is not going anywhere without fighting Timmy..Fighting Timmy B makes Khan legit, tbh something he really is not yet..

Losing at JWW or WW would be a blow to his career. If Bradley doesn't fight him, Khan will have to move on. He won't just stay at JWW forever waiting for Bradley.

Noway Khan moves up without fighting Timmy B,Khan is a fighter not into taking risk with his career..Losing at WW would be a big blow to his career,he will fight Timmy win or lose both will move up..

Yes, he is. Amir is gonna be competing at 147 in 2012. GAURANTEED.
It's not fair. This way Amir will never become unified 140 champion.

perhaps he feels that his '0's marketability is more valuable than the $1.3mil he was being offered by Khan...a risky fight in which he could very much lose that precious '0'
This sums it up. Bradley's team doesn't think is the best route to maximize profit. Very few fighters have any interest in taking risks today. If Bradley's team really believed in him, they would fight Khan in England and get a nice cut of a big gate. However, too many fighters and promoters want to justify their greatness in magazine rankings and not in the ring.
How much more would he get against Pacquiao, though? Didn't Clottey only get like $1m? Bradley is barely a bigger name than him.
okay i did a quick google search.
clottey made $1.2 million but with bonus a total of $3 million.
i think that was just clottey's guarantee.
i think he ended up getting at least $2m.
with marg guarantee was $3 million but i read he might have made as much as $6 million when all was said and done.
mosley was guaranteed $6 million. don't know what he got total.
marquez's contract is guaranteed $5 million i believe plus ppv.
so anything around those numbers will be a lot more just from the guarantee.
but remember with pac fights there's ppv bonuses.
True. He could also catch a career ruining mauling from Pacquiao, the likes of which Khan isn't capable of, though (see: Margarito's detached retina).
All in all, it's bad for the sport. Fighters feel like they're too good to pay dues these days. Need to stop paying them so damn much.

maybe.
so if you were him...... lose to khan for $1.4 million OR lose to pacquiao for much , much more?
can't blame him.
not to mention losing to pacquiao will hurt him less than losing to khan.
lose to khan and he can't get a pacquiao fight.
lose to pacquiao and he probably can still get a khan fight.

If Tim doesn't fight Khan, who else is he going to fight? Even if he was to fight Pacquiao that fight won't come off for awhile. Tim hasn't fought since January.
If he's after Pac he should move up to 147 and stay there. Fight and beat a couple of contenders, get used to the weight.
Get a fight with the magic man, then maybe Kell Brook.
A bird told me coz he is Asian. That's what slick boxers do nowadays. JFYI.
Lol Bradley is not slick at all. He's a rough fighter. Not even defensive or slick, just a little dirty rough fighter. He has his own style that I haven't really seen. Or maybe I have seen Bradley's style before, but I just can't put a name on the guy I have seen it with. But it's a rare style, hard to look good against because he'll rough you up. It's not Hopkins cause Hopkins is an accurate counterpuncher with a lot of defense.
I don't think that highly of Bradley, actually all I do is hate on the guy, but I just don't see how he's ducking Khan. From Khan's last two fights, there is nothing to duck him about from a top fighter's point of view.

"GAURANTEED" ???????????
Use your head like Khan did in his last fight and spell guaranteed correctly.
How do you like the taste of your own medicine ?
not sure.
but for sure arum is working on it.
he was talking all LEGALESE about bradley in an article i read a few days back.
you know the "i would love to sign bradley but i can't talk to him while he's under another promoter" type talk.
translation: i've been talking to him through other channels and just waiting for when i can steal him.
Very true. Timmy knows that TR is interested.
i don't think it matters that jmm gets the pacquiao fight 1st.
if he signs with top rank , he'll for sure get the pacquiao fight sometime next year.
he'll probably just wait for pac and fight a tuneup instead.
doesn't matter. a pacquiao fight will probably be worth 5-6 khan fights.
plus khan will always be there later. khan ain't going anywhere.
:haha: This would be a better route than losing to Khan.
