this is the most inaccurate, overstated comment about mayweather on these boards and i wish it would go away, it isn't true at all. he isn't a KO artist like pacman, but it doesn't make his punches less effective. i wish people would come up with something else to rip floyd with instead of this crap It's actually very accurate. How else do you account for Shane taking no damage whatsoever in a 12 rounder where Floyd landed at will on him? How else do you account for Marquez taking no damage whatsoever apart from his normal "eye cut" (that he's gotten in every fight since the 1st Pac fight) in a full 12 rounder where Floyd landed on him at will? You're confusing power, with effectiveness. Floyd's punches are very effective. They just don't hurt. I like it to being stung by bees.

Mayweather really only struggles with two kinds of fighters. Guys that are faster than he is, and taller guys with good jabs. Martinez is obviously, the latter. I agree that Martinez would be out of his "comfort zone" playing the role of aggressor against Mayweather, but Mayweather's punches have about as much pop these days as a bowl of "rice crispies". He landed at will on Shane for 12 rounds and Shane didn't even look like he'd been in a fight. So Martinez would have no problem eating whatever he had to eat of Floyd's to make it a fight. i doubt martinez will fight manfredo. chavez jr doesn't want anything to do with him, so hopefully zbik can beat him, cause he said he would be willing to fight martinez, rubio sounds good too. martinez's promoter said his next fight wouldn't be on PPV, but on boxrec they have his next fight scheduled as an HBO PPV, i hope it's another mistake from boxrec.

If Floyd comes back, it will be against the top junior welterweight (once all of the dust settles there) and the fight will be at welterweight.

there is nothing you made clear nor did I need you too, It would be Floyds choice if he wants to move up, he can, Floyd is not afraid to give someone else an advantage, plus if Floyd comes into the ring on fight night between 154-158 then I don't see the problem with that either, not really an adv when he fights in the mid 150's

Lol ok? Mayweather could fight at 154 or a catch weight of 156-158. That would be Floyd decision and since he already said he would fight Martinez at 154 you're missing the point, let me make it clearer for you floyd moving up in weight to MW to fight a MW, gives the MW the advantage people need to stop with the floyd/pac vs martinez hoopla, it'd be different if Sergio was a 154 fighter maybe doing a 150 CW or something, but he's 160 and some people say he could makee 168. 168, 160, 154, that's THREE weight divisions above 147. come on people, use your brains

I don't blame Floyd or Manny for not fighting Sergio who is definitely grown into 160 while being just as fast as both. Both of them have moved up in weight enough already. They just need to fight each other. At some point a guy is just too big. Mayweather, who has a pretty good reach for his size would still be shorter by two inches and have the shorter arms by 4-5 inches. I'd love to see Floyd do it. It would put his skill truly to the test. It'd be more impressive than beating Pacquiao.

Mayweather fights at 147, and decided at what weight his fights take place. He's not going to give another fighter a weight advantage for no reason if he's the shot-caller. Martinez can't make 147. Explain to me how this fight could happen.
