King Arthur actually started well and imo was narrowly winning the fight early on, but I think it was round 4 or 5 he just gassed completely. What's up with his fitness? he seems to die in the middle of fights before coming on strong at the end again.
he fights very tense, and that will sap the hell out of your energy. he also swings for a ko with most all his punches. u could be in great shape, but doing these thing will kill your stamina.
He just needs to fire his trainer, or go train somewhere else, cuz this old dude tells him nothing but "Ahtuh fight, Ahtuh punch, Ahtuh cmon" I mean, he gives him no real constructive advice on what to do and how to adjust during the fights.
If he tells him the same thing during training, well that's just a big waste of Arthur's time. He needs to stop relying on his power so much, cuz he's super slow. He needs to work on his athleticism and fitness more so he can actually box all 12 rounds, rather than cover up for 9 and fight for 3.
Full power gasses you not hitting anything at full power and just grazing at full power does as well. The real skilled defensive fighters such as James Toney and Floyd Mayweather roll with punches well. So just about everthing you throw even if it looks solid is just a graze. I see those kind of skills in Andre Ward as well.
Have you ever sparred?
Try sparring a good defensive fighter, then throw all of your punches at full power. You're going to be pretty exhausted after 2, it doesn't matter how relaxed or well conditioned you are.
Just look at Maidana, he seems to get winded in the late rounds of his fights, but it's not due to lack of conditioning, it's because there's a price to pay to putting full power on pretty much every punch, let alone him throwing over 70 punches in a round.
It's the reason why haymakers take more out of your stamina bar, this is without counting body shots taken.
Yeah, his fitness is sh1t.
lol, I think that sums it up. If he could improve his fitness significantly he could become a threat again. But perhaps that's as fit as he can be.
That or he doesn't know how to manage his stamina. He's always holding his hands high up, he throws his punches with so much power in them and he eats a lot of body shots since he always shells up.
It was a shocking drop-off in performance. He did really well in early rounds, then bang...he just died, Ward's fight from there out.
