Yes, but the title said, "How many fighters did Floyd sent into retirement?", Manny retired or sent to a very long vacation Oscar, Hatton, Barrera, Morales, Diaz, Clottey, Margarito and probably now Mosley, Floyd fought 3 out of 8 of this fighters, 2 doesn't qualify the word 'most' for me!!
Buddy, if the title is all that matters then how does Manny's sending these guys home have anything to do with it at all in the first place? I never said Floyd --- you know what, I'm not even gonna bother at this point, I explained my post I'm sorry I didn't anticipate your counter-argument hours later when I made it
You probably missed the whole 3rd page where I explained I was busting balls.
Still, for the record, the guy who started the thread cited Oscar, Hatton, and Margarito as his examples and Floyd did indeed fight 2 out of those 3 and so my use of the word 'most' would still apply since 2 out of 3 is, in fact, a majority.

I never knew Floyd fought Margarito, Barrera, Morales...

Yeah, Pac sent most of those guys into retirement after Floyd beat their asses himself. He's like the momma bird that chews the food and spits it into the baby's mouth. Pac is like the baby bird that just swallows.
I never knew Floyd fought Margarito, Barrera, Morales...
Difference is they're doing it because they're actually debating. I'm doing it because I'm trying to avoid studying for my last final after killing myself over the first three and it entertains me hahaha :boxing:
well, whatever helps you in your studies. hope you ace the test since education these days cost an arm and a leg.
when you use the analogy you did to incite such arguments to devolve into something that amuses you, guess what? you've actually become a part of it. cuz you have to ask yourself. what makes you different from those who argue over something you don't care about when you so eagerly participate on it?

I actually agree with you, AND I'll go further and say a big, big problem is boxing is that perception and as a result fighters are becoming increasingly afraid to lose and it leads to the kind of crapshoot fights that we get. I don't really care who got to who first, except in the case of Hatton because he was undefeated and that's definitely worthy of a mention when a guy takes the 0 away. Anybody who thinks it really matters was probably one of those guys in high school who competed with his friends to get the virgins
Honestly, the reason I used that analogy was because the whole premise of this thread is to simply incite tension between two groups of fans and it's fun to watch it devolve over people that, in the end, I really don't give a rat's ass about. They're not friends of mine, right? It's just so ridiculous to have a thread comparing who sent who into retirement. Plenty of fighters fight guys who have a particular flaw or reason they decided to challenge the fighter. And guess why. Because nobody's perfect. Pacquiao may have fought those guys because Mayweather showed they were vulnerable. Or they may have just been next on the list. Doesn't matter anyway because nobody in the division is beating either of those guys except the two of them and that's that.
true, because of the increasing stakes involved in losing/winning, more and more fighters aren't willing to take chances of losing or would make outrageous financial demands to take those risks.
emotions run high when it comes to athletes and their fans, ESPECIALLY with these two fighters.

you are right in that BOTH Pac and Floyd fight their own way. but you're naive to believe that since Floyd beat a fighter first, it lessens the impact of Pac's victory over them.
lemme put it to you this way. with your kind of thinking, what's the point of fighting a boxer with a loss? he's already been beaten and is therefore SOMEONE'S LEFTOVERS.

Don't call me ignorant, I'd bet the house I'm smarter than you.
i called you ignorant for a reason. or maybe a more appropriate description would be you're simply naive?
You look at Floyd's interviews and it's clear the guy has something going on upstairs, and I posted in another thread (the one on Floyd After Dark the interviews with fighthype) that he's looking like someone who may actually be dealing with some kind of psychological/emotional disorder. Is he ducking Pacquiao, yeah probably. But none of us know why and none of us know what's going on in that guy's head and life. You can't say Manny sent him into retirement because you, me, and anybody else on here, none of us have any idea what's going on.
I do know this, Mayweather beat those same guys, he beat them first, and he beat them convincingly. You can talk about outboxing vs. getting destroyed but the sport is indeed called boxing and not backyard brawling and there is nothing to be taken away from somebody who can outbox anybody. Maybe you prefer one style to another, but personal preference doesn't take away from impressiveness. Pac's victories were impressive, but Mayweather beat those guys first, and that cannot be debated. In going with that, Floyd's knockout of Hatton was brutal as well, maybe some people should remind themselves of that too. It's not like Floyd danced his way to victory, he just has a different style and it works for him
you are naive since you think just because floyd beat those fighters first, he somehow softened them up for Pac.

if Sergio Martinez thought the way you did, he'd NEVER be where he is now.
if Manny had the same mentality you did, then he'd never become P4P #1.
The only one Floyd retired was Chikanito Hernandez!
Pac has DLH, Hatton, & Margarito. Barrera, Morales, Diaz, Clottey etc also were sent for some long vacations after the Pac beatings!
include cotto in this list.
now if these guys pummeled pac into submission, these flomos would still think all these vacationeers and retirees still has 'IT' :lol1: :werd:
Flomo logic: Past prime and shot after a beating from Pac.
Manny retired floyd without even fighting him :lol1:
^^^^^^^:haha:
fookin Gayweather's balls shrink each he hears the name Pacquiao! A few more times hearing Pacquiao his balls will develop into a clit.
Oh U mean the 37 year old guy that Floyd already beat that Pac is trying to fight next at 145 in late 2011? Let me guess, Marquez is likely to retire after this bout?
typical. trying to change the subject when owned. ah well. nothing new here.
Plus, you really ARE ignorant.
its at a catchweight of 144 lbs.
and Pac beat marquez FIRST.
and i wouldn't gloat about floyd's victory over Marquez. In spite of the overwhelming odds in his favor, Floyd STILL felt the need to cheat against a much smaller foe.
i wouldn't be surprised if floyd ever fought again and cheated AGAIN, you'd still praise him to high heavens.
ignorance is really bliss for you people ain't it?
Pac retired floyd without throwing a single punch!
And the way floyd conducts interviews, floyd's actually making his situation worse for himself. heck, even his ardent fans are dismayed at his most recent rant.

Floyd beat Oscar, Pacquiao beat Oscar up.
Floyd beat Hatton, Pacquiao destroyed Hatton
Mosley came to fight Floyd, Mosley came to survive against Pacquiao.
Fighting Floyd, you could get outboxed.
Fighting Pacquiao, it could end your career.
