i think arreola, even though hes not that great can be a champion if klitschkos and haye arent around... solis could come again maybe he showed quick hands and some boxing iq so if he trains like a beast he could be a top heavyweight maybe..... thoughts? anyone else? tyson fury maybe?
anyone rate derk chisora? what do you think would be a good fight for him next if the fury fight falls through?
Not really. He's too crude and limited to ever really amount to anything IMO. He's still young enough to go somewhere if he really dedicates himself to the job though, but I don't see it happening unless he suddenly makes a drastic turnaround in his style.
Would like to see him fight Perez next.
I don't think Wlad is leaving anytime soon. Vitali maybe, but not him. Wlad will probably hang around to abuse whoever is there at HW for another 3 years or so. Whoever takes over after him will be someone new, not anybody that's there and ranked presently.
Problem is those fights were a long time ago and Povetkin has drastically regressed since then.
Anyway, enough about that loser. Let's talk about guys who are actually going to amount to something.
Boystov, Fury and Negron
Exactly he beat Chambers and Byrd and is still undefeated so what is the problem?

There's weak comp and then there's the absolutely horrid bottom of the barrel crap that he's actually been fighting (and not looking good) against. Povetkin's comp seems to get worse every fight. At the moment it's become a question not of when he's going to step up, but when he's going to stop stepping down. And don't forget this is a guy that won an Olympic gold medal and once beat Eddie Chambers and Chris Byrd. If you think this guy's going to amount to anything now, well, I'd say you're a far more optimistic man than I.

Atlas clearly thought he wasn't ready. Povetkin doesn't have a title or anything so I don't see the problem in him facing weak comp until he is ready to step up.

I'd honestly never even heard of his last two opponents before he fought them, and I only knew Mora vaguely as the guy that got blown out by Ibragimov in one. Waiting until he's ready to step up? ^^ yep.. povetkin won that elimination tournament to get the right to a shot and teddy atlas stopped him from doing it and what has he done for him since? hes been pretty inactive and the few times he has fought its been against d/c level fighters and he hasnt even looked good in those fights..
Yep, shouldve took the Wlad/Vitali fight. This way he wouldve had a punchers chance and the mandatory rematch wouldve made him set for life off the $$$ he wouldve made. This way he wont make anywhere close to the amount of $$$ he couldve gotten fighting the brothers. Theres a reason Teddy Atlas is at a diffirent Indian Reservation every week on ESPN2 (Soon to be bumped to ESPN18). Should get a real Coach instead of a faker like Teddy who just bad mouths sucesfull people while never amounting to anything himself besides talking crap about how bad everyone but Young Black Americans are.
He's such a hypocrite that he even training him since he only lusts after Young Black dudes and has webcams in the changing rooms so he gets his freak on like that.
Probably cries him self to sleep every night when he thinks about what Naco,Steward, Roach have amounted to and hes on the Najavo Reservation with 200 people.
Ruined his confidence, ruined his unspectacular but established style in the vain hope of turning him into Tyson, cost him a career high payday and matched him against a string of bums that even Haye would feel bad about facing.

WTF are you people talking about how has Atlas ruined Povetkin?

I forgot about Boytsov, but that's not hard considering how often he fights. Two fights a year but be acceptable for an established fighter, but Boytsov is still a prospect who's yet to fight a meaningful opponent. He's got youth and talent on his size, but if he doesn't step it up soon he's going to be surpassed by lesser talented but more game fighters like Helenius.
I never thought much of Povetkin beforehand, but under Atlas he's been totally ruined and struggles to even beat C level lardarses from the back of beyond. He's also getting on in age yet seems to be treated as if he's a green prospect fresh out of the ams. Povetkin has squandered whatever talent he might once have had in the vain quest of maintaining a meaningless 0 that'd fall to anyone above B level. I'd pick Arreola to beat him, and I really don't think much of him either.
Boytsvov and maybe Povetkin if he fires Teddy atlas and gets a real coach.

Ye teddy atlas has totally ruined povetkins career even if he would have lost to wlad and had a couple of decent fights after he would be in a better position than he is now

I dont get this Mike Perez hype, WoW He won the Prizefighter! What a prestigious event full of taxi drivers and bums. It pains me everytime I watch prizefighter. From the horrible judging to the horrible Refs, to the horrible C level fighters.
Am I saying he cant be a great fighter? Not at all. Just people here getting on his cawk after he wins Prizefighter. Theres a reason he fought in Prizefighter and didnt have a real fight. Look at Fraudley Harrison lol.
All I know is that the next HW Champ will be someone from the old soviet bloc of countries or a Cuban or German.
Altho Im still a big fan of Eddie Chambers and Samuel Peter.
HW is what Boxing is all about, everyone loves the Heavyweights, thats where the real men are. People in lower weight classes cry and moan about a few lb diffirence but the HW's can fight 30-40 lbs lighter like real men.
Its going to be interesting, Mike Perez looked very good winning Prizefighter, Solis has all the talent in the world but obviously no love for the sport, David Price could be one to watch but still needs to be tested.
