One of Americans favourite things is claiming other people as their own, some will even try to claim Albert Einstein as American.
Its because theres no american culture so they try to steal everyone elses. And its always like "hurr hes american" "No Im Not Im Mexican" "Nu-uh You american NOW"
Diverse cultures IS American culture.
I think you're an original American only if you are White American or African American. I know technically it's not suppose to be that way, but that's just my opinion.
In all of my documents, my passport, all my papers etc it says my nationality is United States of America/American. Yet I was not born here, but I am 22 and have been living here for 21 years and 9 months. But before I was born, my mother was already a U.S. Citizen, but she was not born here either. I know technically i'm an American but I just don't feel I am one because I was not born here.
When some one asks me what am I, I don't say I am Dominican-American or American, I simply say i'm Dominican. I love USA and all, and I wanted to join the Marines. But personally when i'm asked I just say i'm Dominican.
But with that said, if you are ???-American, and you want to say that is what you are, then more power to you. But you'll never really be looked at as an original American or be treated like a "real" American would be treated. You are still a Mexican, a Dominican, a Fillipino, in other Americans eyes. Once you do something bad, you will get disowned. Like Tiger Woods who's part white, once he went through that scandal, all endorsements left him, he was all of a sudden not white. But you see Tom Brady going through that rape scandal, who's 100% white American, he keeps his career intact, keeps the endorsements, nothing happens.
Yes I know I went off-topic.
so american floyd is reclaiming boxing right now by going on vacation, doing racist rants in ustream, beating women and stealing their celphones, threatening children, poking and threatening security guards, etc. etc. yey! god bless america!
Yeah, I don't agree with everything but Mayweather had one fight in 2010, one fight in 2009, none in 2008. I mean 2 fights in 4 years and now he's one of the fighters that are reclaiming boxing? He has a lot of talent, but he's completely wasting it especially with all the legal problems that he has gotten into.
If an individual is a citizen of a nation, then yes, they are of that nationality and belong to that nation.
I have clear, set, criteria of the meaning of nationality, you on the other hand, have added new elements of what constitutes nationality with several new posts.
According to you, nationality is defined by 3 things; the country the individual was born in, their parents nationality and their own personal opinion of which nationality they think they are. Those are your criteria, so far, and I won't be surprised if more elements are added.
You are adding new elements to what constitutes nationality with every new post. Now an individual's choice of what nationality they are is also thrown in the mix, in that case Nonito Donaire considers himself a Filipino-American, so do you agree with him or do you still believe he is exclusively Filipino?
Nonito Donaire jr. is a Filipino American professional boxer.

I shall await a response.
No, because she was born in France and has British parents she was born with dual nationality, she can consider herself French or British. Nonito was born with 1 nationality and that is Filipino. FFS :dunce:

I don't think Nonito is an American ... I mean I wont get into all that discussion of where he has lived in the past years in all that.
I don't consider him an american because at least for me, it looks like he fights for Philippines and not for the USA. He's called the The Filipino Flash and always enters the ring with the Philippines flag and has his crow of Filipino followers.

Why are you picking bits out? Answer the full post are those Nazi scientists that helped kill jews American?
Ok so even though he is an American citizen, lives only in America, moved here when he was 12, went through most of his school life in America, he isn't American?
ahhh so that explains why hes always carrying the american flag in the ring with him everytime he fights and he has stars n stripes always in his jacket! :usa2:

This is your personal definition because an individual's parents nationality is not considered to be a determining factor of one's own nationality. You are making up your own definitions which makes it difficult to argue a point since you can continuously alter meanings of certain words.
Since, you claim that two things determine nationality, is Emma Watson half-French?
Emma Watson is French if she considers herself French. All those Nazi scientists they shipped over to America lived most of their lives there, were they American too or don't you want to claim them because you have nothing to gain?
or dodge the draft........and go to canada............lol......all im saying is they bring another nations flag ......repping it..............are they american sure?................are they repping USA to the fullest?.............no....
If your salty over the fact that they do bring out there bloodline flag then I can see that... But at the end of the day they were breed here in America... If a white guy that is first generation American that is from a country in the uk I'm sure he would bring his old flag and rep it too...*shrugs.
So, an individual's nationality is now dependent upon the parents nationality? You're shifting the goalposts, mate. You stated;
Therefore, continuing with your train of logic, Emma Watson is not British as she was not born in Britain.
If my parents were Italian, but I was born in Ireland, would that make me Italian or Irish? Again, it's just a simple case of not being a hypocritical flip-flopper. If you believe in a certain philosophy and then back-track, alter definitions and not hold true to your original claim, than you are fooling only yourself.
2 things make nationality, Parents nationailty and the country you was born in. I said he wasn't born in America because that's how you usually claim fighters, now your trying to claim people that moved over there as your own. :lol1: You're worse than Canadians claiming Lennox Lewis.
Dont get into it with americans over this. They love to claim random athletes as one of their own for a long time just because they might have visited or lived in America.
Shows how much talent they have of their own. Without other countries they would all fail. Mexico is SAVING Americas ASS.
They also rely on slavery, to make them undercut other economies.
Nonito was borm in the Philippines and has Filipino parents = Nothing to do with America.
Watson was Born in France with British parents

So, are you claiming Emma Watson is British, even though she was born in France, yet you believe Nonito Donaire is exclusively Filipino because he was born in the Philippines?
Nothing personal mate, you're not being a straight-shooter is all. If you believe Nonito is Filipino because he was born in the Philippines, then that's fine, but you should also state that Emma Watson is French because she was born in France.
