Barry Bonds might have some more records, a few higher numbers, but we'll always remember the Babe and Floyd as flawed individuals outside of the ring who despite the countless distractions that they created, always succeeded and had arguably the greatest historical career of all time not just for the numbers, but how they went about getting the numbers.
Pacquiao and Bonds will always be guys remember for large numbers, and for their work ethics and for living cleaner lives outside the sport than say guys like Ruth or Floyd, but their historical accomplishments will always be clouded by the extreme doubt in their legitimacy. They may never be convicted, but in the court of public opinion and logic the damage is done. The question will be whether numbers alone entitle one to all time honors such as HOF inductions etc...or if there is too much doubt in how they achieved the numbers to deserve such merits. Where as Floyd and the Babe get credit for how they went about getting their numbers, fighting through adversity outside their sport, dominating when they participated, etc...these two's accomplishments will always be downplayed by this doubt
I really wonder if either Pac or Bonds will make the hall of fame when all is said and done. Steroids are very serious, they result in deaths of youths all over the world and I dont know if people with any connection to steroids should be in the HOF.

Sorry, but Mayweather isn't a HOMERUN HITTER.
Exactly how would Eddie Chambers be a goat with 49% KO ratio? Americans didnt even know who this short pudgey guy was until he lost to Wlad, probably still dont know who he is...
The truth is Americans quit watching boxing when Lennox defeated there two greatest heroes(Tyson/Holyfield), and their final glimmer of hope: Hasim Rahman(Last American Undisputed) After that Americans started playing Fantasy Football and never looked back.
By the time Wlad was champ in 2005 the American media had already fled from the sport.
Yeah, and Eddie Chambers would be in the HOF without Eastern Euros.
And blacks make up 7% of baseball today...a much smaller number than the amount of Eastern Euros in boxing now.
Oh and there were more pro baseball teams and a higher population of people playing baseball in Babe Ruth's time due to it being the biggest sport at the time. So if you think Babe Ruth succeeded because of lack of black people, then you have to admit that Ali's career is a joke because a lack of Eastern Euro's, which make up a higher population, a higher population of boxers than blacks in baseball etc...
Hey you can have your opinion but the fact that they didn't let a certain group in makes a difference.. I'm not saying Ruth was a bum.. And ya I'm a big fan of the klitchkos, huge.. But there the only great white heavyweights.. U making it seem like eurose would just dominate.. The klitchikos ate a rare breed.
Larry Bird could be a starter on the NBA All-Time Team.

Look I just got done railing my Phillipino girlfriend, whose picture I have posted on this site before and linked my facebook. I am white. I think Vitali Klitschko would KO1 Ali, I think Joe Calzaghe would beat a prime RJJ, clearly I cannot be accused of being biased in this case...many have called me a racist on this site. So clearly I represent the neutral public or if anything I have leanings towards Pacquiao, but its pretty clear that Floyd is one of the greatest boxers of all time, and at least to me it seems fairly obvious that Manny Pacquiao has used more roids than the entire Canseco family and has built his career on hard core steroid abuse. Im not saying that as a fact, I am saying that as the opinion of people who are neutral on the situation. Everyone who says Pac is clean is a Pac fan in my opinion, the rest of the world believes he is roided like crazy. I just had sex with a phillipino girl, so I have no reason to lie about this. Look, I understand Pac has a lot of fans and sympathizers, thats cool, Bonds did as well, but the general public has made up their mind.
^^ powerfull post.. Ali vs vitali would be great but idk.. But the rest is godlike.
The point is there is no smoking gun for either, but that where as PBF and the Babe will be remembered as the most dominant members of their sport during their time, DESPITE what they did outside of the ring.
Pac and Bonds will always have their dominance questioned BECAUSE of what they might have done outside of the ring. There is similar circumstantial evidence for Bonds and Pac and while the public has had more time to digest the Bonds evidence, the public is just starting to learn about the evidence against Manny, but there is little doubt eventually he'll be in the same position as Bonds.
bonds admitted to doing ped's. pac has never admitted or been linked to ped's. very similar indeed.
if you want to compare bonds to anyone it's floyd. bonds saw mcgwire and sosa getting all the accolades and popularity for hitting home runs so he decided to juice because he was jealous. floyd saw pac getting all the accolades and popularity so he decided to juice because he thought pac was juicing. bonds comes back bigger than ever. floyd comes back bigger than ever. now he only fights every year so he can cycle on and off without getting caught.
I don't want to hurt your feelings but babe Ruth era is tainted on the fact they didn't let colored people compete... Imagine if they didn't let blacks compete during Larry bird era... Larry bird would probably have like 15 rings and averaged 40 a night... Larry would be labeled the goat player.
Pre-1996 boxing was made up without Eastern Europeans, what a joke Ali/Joe Louis/Jack Johnson were, Imagine if they didnt allow Eastern Euros to compete in the HW division today. Eddie Chambers would be HW champion and have like 15 defenses. Eddie Chambers would be labeled the goat boxer.

the whole purpose of this thread was to imply pacquiao was using PEDs...
