Mayweathers are affiliated with Golden boy promotions. The fact that you quoted Richard Schaefe in Mayweather's defense shows your lack of knowledge on this matter.
Ross Greenburg is a completely neutral third party. head of HBO. you don't have to humor me, the fact is Mayweather lied and they walked away from the negoatiations.
So you were incorrect still. go back and correct yourself. acknowledge your error or you're just a stubborn biased poster.
Mayweather was fine with 14 days the first time around. it really doesn't matter when he moved the goalpost.
the fact is he moved the goal post during the negotiation. that is conniving in terms of negotiations. when you are negotiating your car price and the sales person agrees to the # then they come back to the table with an inflated #. how does that make sense?
Whose fault is it in that scenerio?
Who is moving the goal posts?
lastly, you agreed Floyd is the last one to walk away from the table right? okay then.
!st off to what extent is Mayweather affiliated with Golden boy promotions, has always been the debate. The fact that i mentioned richard schaeffer to his defense does not show a lack of knowledge, i know who schaeffer is, but he denied it too, and if he's affiliated with golden boy (Im assuming he would be negotiating on Mayweather's behalf) correct, ok. Bob Arum is their representing Pacquiao and there you have Ross Greenburg, the hbo exec,
(who arum already promised a November date too, but of course, Greenburg would perfer having Pacquiao/Mayweather on his banner, than Pacquiao/Margarito. So when you say he's "a neutral 3rd party" that's an understatement.
And as far as moving the goalpost. Do you really think that mayweather thought, manny wouldn't except OST? i mean if your clean and have nothing to hide why wouldn't you except. You got the biggest ego in boxing to accept to all of your terms and all he wanted was random ost. NO CUTOFF DATE. At that time, team pacquiao didn't even acknowledge they rejected a 14 day proposal until 3 days after the day the mediator stepped in. By that time, they verbally commited to fighting Clottey and Pacquiao made 6 million. Mayweather fought mosley making close to 30mi. 14 day cut off at 1st was a benefit of the doubt, they rejected it. After public opinion swayed and the months passed, the thought of pacquiao using was maginified, so he lost that benefit.
yes that 2nd negotiation was a real negotiation = fact
so you were incorrect, go back and correct yourself about that only 1 real negotiation bullsh1t.
mayweather was initially fine with 14 days. pac agreed to 7 days and mayweather moved the goalppost then walked away = fact.
history will blame the person that walked away last.
like any negotiation.... you can make counter-offers back and forth all day but the guy that walked away from the table last is the one to blame for the deal not materializing.
who walked away last?
You = clownshoe
Mayweather stated at the end of his fight with Mosley that he wanted testing up until fight night, because who wouldn't be skepitcal of somebody turning down the biggest day of their lives, and team mayweather never acknowledged they were in contact with ross greenburg or team pacquiao, and this is the same negotiation that Richard Schaeffer said never existed either. HMMMMMMMM huh, to save you the trouble ill humor you and say there was........ If the both sit down and talk a 2nd, or 3rd time around and mayweather says the exact same thing that he did last may, Ill fight you but if there's testing up until the day of the fight, and Manny responds like "well we already said we would except up until 7 days before the fight, and the fight doesn't happen, you gonna blame Mayweather then. To me the blame is gonna be simple this time around, if the fight ends because of blood testing, im blaming team pacquiao, if it continues the way it has been now with Mayweather basically not saying who or when he's fighting then ill blame Mayweather.
there were 2 negotiations.
Ross Greenburg already confirmed this.
why do you clownshoes love to perpetuate lies?
the 2nd time Manny agreed to the ridiculous demands of OSDT 14 day cut off and he actually conceded to 7 days.
Floyd didn't even schedule a fight. He went on vacation. Just LOL @ this bull****e post
There were 2 negotiations, i assume your talking about the one in the summer with the war of the words between and hbo exec with a date to fill and a shady promoter trying to disgrace his former employee. And what part of random , dont you understand, random means no cut off, not I know in advance when the last day im going to be tested isn't that the same reason the fight didn't happen in March 2010. So wtf does he think that offer still stands, after the mosley fight last year mayweather said he wanted testing up until fight night, so a month later they had negotiations, and according to you pacquiao said he would agree to an offer that was off the table 6 months ago, and you blame mayweather.
To me its simple, not only did team pacquiao look like they had something to hide in January, during the end of those negotiations, Bob arum left and went to strike a deal with Clottey (before they even concluded their talks with Mayweather). Fighters have their own agendas and promoters have their's. Arum went through the motions of trying to get a fight with mayweather, because he had, he had to say they tried. He knew dam well that Mayweather wasn't going to fight and damm sure not as early as November. He promised Margarito a date in November before they had "those so called 2nd talks." Just like he promised Jerry Jones a Pacquiao fight on March 13th 2010. Dont believe the hype man, team pac has been pissed since last january, not to mention he left those talks to fight clottey for 6million, while mayweather left and fought Mosley for close to 30mil, not only did he show them up at the negotiation table but they got embarrassed at the box office. IF Mayweather is running now, or has been since the summer, what was manny doing when he didn't wanna except, the same random blood test, and according to you revised cut off date, that ALL OF A SUDDEN he's willing to except now. Riddle me that. Im not saying there was never a 2nd attempt to negotiate, im saying that was more of a public relations, sway public opinion move, than a real proposal to fight.
Brilliant post. The only problem I have with Floyd was in 2008 when Miguel Cotto whooped Alfonso Gomez and was on a collision course with Margarito I would have liked for Floyd to come out and either challenge Cotto or say he wants the winner of that fight instead of talking about rematching Oscar. But of course I dont blame Floyd bc if he fought Oscar again he would have made like $25 million and would have got less for the Cotto fight. Arum would not have let any of that happen but I would have enjoyed Floyd expressing interest that he wanted to fight Cotto.
i agree with that. The only problem with that, and what most people dont understand is that bob arum stands in the way. His former promoter and the same way Arum is reluctant to put manny against a golden boy fighter, i always felt that was the reason behind margarito/mayweather and cotto/mayweather not happening. People love to listen to what "other people are saying" instead "of what actually happened." Before Mosley signed to fight mayweather, he stood on the sideline for over a year, practically begging for a fight with manny pacquiao. Fact, he approached Freddie Roach on 2 occasions pertaining a fight with pacquiao and Roach said no for two reason, 1. Mosley wanted the fight at 147lbs, and pointed to the fact the Pacquiao just beat de la hoya at 147lbs, so why not fight him. Freddie Roach's response was, your too good. And at the time there wasn't enough money to make a fight that was more risk than reward .
I feel Team pacquiao tried to take advantage of being in the driver seat the 1st time around, knowing mayweather got killed publicly for fighting marquez, and also with the notion they felt Mayweather wouldn't fight Mosley. So in January they tried to play tough guy during the negotiations with floyd figuring "If he didn't fight us, and {we} know he's not going to fight Mosley who else is he going to fight. So they made there demands, floyd agreed to the 50-50 purse split, the size gloves, ring size, and then it was that weird "well we want you to pay 10mil per pound clause" which to the casual fan may seem fair because Floyd came in 2lbs over the agreed upon 145lb catchweight with marquez. To a hardcore fan that clause (especially to an ego like mayweather) gives off the impression that you either didn't expect him to except it, or it was made to piss him off during negotiations. Either way he excepted there offer.
Now when its time for mayweather's request, he only had 1. And that was to take RANDOM TESTING leading up until the fight. I have a plenty good memory and i can recall the amount of excuses they came up with as to why they were reluctant to agree to RANDOM testing. 1st it was Manny doesn't like needles, to he's superstitious, to we will only agree to 3 test dates, before the fight, one during training camp, and one following the fight, to we will agree to testing 21 days before, to 14 days is no good, so fight called off. If Mayweather used drug testing as an excuse to not fight manny (which i doubt because i feel with all the relatives he has in his ear and knowing the business he really believes that Manny is using something).
What gets at me pertaining to this weekends past fight was, what did they think Mosley could possibly bring to the table. They obviously saw his 2 past performances against Mora and Mayweather, why do you think they chose Mosley out of all the live dogs to fight. Because they wanted to say Pacquiao knocked Mosley out, Floyd couldn't. so let the public debate who is better. They did it with de la hoya, and the public sucks it up, not paying attention to the fact that Mayweather fought de la hoya at his natural weight, why manny did it at 147 (where de lo hoya hadnt fought in 10yrs) and when i saw on fight night that he weighed 145lbs, i knew he had no chance. Fans gave Pacquiao credit for knocking out ricky hatton in the 2nd round pointing to the fact that it took Mayweather 10 to do so. What about now, why didn't he ko Mosley, and dont dare blame it on mosley himself, cause thats the opponent TEAM PACQUIAO picked.
I like watching Pacquaio fights because he's exciting, but the minute he started getting paid millions, he took the same safety 1st approach (as far as opponents to fight) that mayweather did after the Gatti fight. 1 loss for either of them (Mayweather especially) and the millions go down the drain. I don't mind fighters doing that because for as much pain and suffering you have to endure to get to that point, you wanna solidify you spot and milk it for what its worth. However, if your gonna point the finger at mayweather and ask him to step up to the plate and fight a challenge, i think now its time we ask Pacquiao to do the same, cause IMO a catchweight fight @ 145 with Marquez is not a step up, its more like a crip walk. Real talk.
its not blasphemy its the damm truth. And american sports has always played favored when it comes to who to criticize and for what reason. Let all you flomos and pactards play the blame game, im gonna go by the facts. Fact; they only had 1 legitimate negotiation where both parties sat down and talked about a potential fight, that was last january. Fact Mayweather agreed to his ridiculous demand of paying 10mil per lb every pound he was over weight, and Pacquiao did not agree to random drug testing. PERIOD, everything else going on is to sway public opinion. Be real and any pacquiao fan ask themselves this question. 2 years ago, when the negotiations failed to make manny vs pacquiao , fans DEMANDED that floyd take a challenge and face the next toughest opponent at welterweight, who was shane mosley at the time. When are we going to pretend that Manny is not doing the exact same thing floyd was and fighting names that dont bring much to the table in the ring, but have a lot of fans outside of it. Now you mean to tell me his next step up in competition is Marquez at 145lbs. FLoyd would be crucified if he took steps backwords in competition the way manny has been...... Manny does get a pass, to the point where his fight with miguel cotto @ a catchweight was a fricking title fight. ONLY FOR MANNY.
Stellar post. Just stellar.
Wilbon is a clown with an agenda. He crapped on Verlander wanting to get 7 no hitters because of "history proving that things like this don't happen often" and even mentioned the rise in pitching stats having a direct link to PED issue. Then turn around and poo poo Floy's PED request as if it isn't a viable question to ask in 2011. He all but blamed Floyd for Saturday's fight. Shameful.
It's shameful. So very shameful.

very well said, green k sent
I don't know about that. Wilbon has interviewed floyd a number of times in the past and did nothing but praise the guy. It wasn't until he started running from pac that he took heat. These guys get paid to share an opinion, what was he supposed to say? The whole worlds been ****ting on floyd for his antics. Dudes just telling it like it is
That is true but he is much more adamant about attacking Floyd. I think part of the reason he is going so hard at Floyd to is because he thinks Floyd doing this is hurting Boxing and helping mma as he has stated many times his love for Boxing and how he detests mma and how he is sad where the sport of Boxing is.
How dare you blaspheme on the eight time chizamp. Thats not the point, the point is FMJ is a coward!! Manny was behind the plan to get Osama. Manny was there and part of the raid just days befpore the SSM fight. Floyd is betting baseball games. Whose the man now????

lol I think Floyd and Wilbon have beef in their personal life

That panel is like having:
Makavelli
Peyk peyk
Pac Boy
Talisayen
Lady Fan
Modern talking
all sitting at a round table. Not one of them knows anything about boxing.
Couldn't have said it any better.
