WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, a native of Garden City, told the Journal-World on Tuesday night that he plans to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Sept. 16 in Las Vegas.
“I just need to look at the contract and make sure everything is OK,” Ortiz said. “It’s not 100 percent sure yet, but that’s what I’m setting my sights on.”

Ortiz, his manager and Golden Boy have all denied these reports and said the quotes were made up. Not sure why this story is dragging on every day.

Its funny how every one says Floyd fights nobodys. He Whiped Corralas, He beats an undrained DeLaHoya, He KO's Hatten, He dominated JMM for 12 rounds, He dominated Mosley after he KO's Margicheato and looked steller, Now hes gonna fight Ortiz. Don't know how people can say he fights nobodys.
