I started a thread on why do people called PBF a runner....., And made points on how:
If I threw something at your head, hopefully you would have the wherewithal to move out of the way. ...
Or
Would you Stand there get hit to prove that you are not scared of the object throne at you, and then throw something Back....?
************************************************** ****
Naturally the thought came in my head,
that most Mexican fighters who identify themselves as warriors do this and get praise as Warriors.....
Julio C.Chavez, Margarito, Morralles,etc....
and if you dont take Punishment to give Punishment, you are a Runner...!
and their fans agree with that....
So basically in other not to be a runner do you have to take Punishment to give Punishment....?
If so:
My question would be if you like boxers who stand there and get hit without moving do you care about your fighter ?
Theory:
************************************************** ****
So when they fight a fighter who dont take Punishment to give Punishment... Instead Avoid Punishment to give Punishment
This explains the reason why they tend to called them runners....
and I think it coralates down to their fans, because than their fans called them runners...
************************************************** ****
But is that smart...?
Looking at the history of past fighters...., such as Ali, and Hearns, and thousands of other fighters....
My belief would be if you dont want to hand serious health problems in the future.... You should avoid as much Punishment as possible, and give as punishment as possible...
Therefore
taking Punishment to give Punishment is probably the dumbest thing you could do as a fighter..
Am I wrong to have that belief..?

FighterS choose the style they're best physically suited for. Some just don't mind taking a few to give a few, and some just want to entertain the fans. Don't mean their dumb. If you think of all the greatest fights, they've all been wars, not one sided defensive exhi itions. C'mon man, no need to attack a whole group of people. No place for that here.
tell him to go watch a tape of his one legged jew brother yuri foreman. :hijacked:
He is not the type to get butthurt or racial like Boxingsceners, he would probably laugh his ass off at Yuri.
Your friend should watch more boxing. Arce was countering Vasquez all night long, even Tarver mentioned it.
Arce may not be a great boxer but he's not just some guy in a tuff guy contest. He has a amateur background but understood the way to beat vasquez is to lure him into a brawl where he would have the advantage.
Doesn't really matter if he watches more boxing, I watch a lot of boxing and I am not really impressed with the Mexican style of boxing. You either like it or you don't. Arce did look silly at times, reminded me of a regular street fight.
With that said, I am happy for Arce and I actually rooted for him, but thought WV2 was gonna take it by decision. Arce vs WV2 was the best fight of the night in terms of action, no matter if I don't like that style, I can't sit here and lie about that fight, it was a very exciting fight for the most part.
Although Arce got the job done, me and my brother in law, who's Jewish and he's a casual boxing fan, but I would say he knows more than a casual. Well he was laughing at the way Arce fights. No defense whatsoever, blocking with his face, throwing like if he's in a street fight. He was bothered by Arce's style the whole fight, just cracking up at how he fights. He asked why do all Mexican boxers fight like that, and how can you lose to some one like that. I told him, if you lose to some one like that, it's cause you're worse than them. A guy like Hopkins, Mayweather, Pacquiao, prime Jones etc, would not lose to a come forward brawler like that. Although Pacquiao lost to Morales once, but other than that he's really good against come forward brawlers. WV2 is worse than Arce, that's all I can think of.

....I admire black outside/defensive boxers because thats their style.
but what you have to understand is most Mexican boxers don't just fight for a check like floyd they fight to make their people proud they have a reputation to live up to.
blacks don't fight for other black people or black america.
haven't you noticed they wear a Mexican flag on their shorts when they fight?
thats because they're representing their people , so they feel obligated to make the fight a war.:boxing:
Its really as simple as picking the style that is best suited for you. Most Mexicans guys probably wouldnt be popular or making money boxing if they tried to outbox their opponents.
If the style a boxer has is the style that makes him win whether it be slick or brawling, well then more power to him.

Seriously, you can't be this dumb.
Fighters don't take punches on purpose, some just chose not to quit when hit with a few.

go and kill yourself, phaggot.....
If avoiding punishment were the stuff of "track stars"
why do you find equipment in every boxing gym that improves head
movement?
Why do fighters wear ankle weights?
jump rope?
And simulate ducking punches when doing pad workouts?
If I threw something at your head, hopefully you would have the wherewithal to move out of the way. ...

Chavez was actually pretty slick, I would not call him a brawler. If I was a boxer i'd rather umm not get punched. There is nothing cool about taking a beating.

People knock Margarito and all those guys but thats just their style.
Odds are if Marg didnt fight like that he would not be where he is today and be making millions as a boxer. If a fighter doesnt have the ability to box and counterpunch he is better suited as pressure fighter that takes more punishment.
I said typical.... not ALL, come on man dont start that biased stuff...
Just like typical black fighters are fast..., NOT ALL but typical....
Huge difference
typical like black fighters are mostly scared of a midget (Gayweather and Mosley)?
