Expectations are a *****, especially when you fail to live up to them.
Spin all you want about How Pacquiao did this and Pacquiao did that. The fact of the matter is Pacquiao look like complete **** against Mosley. To the point where the crowd that was in attendance for this fight booed and walk out of this fight. He failed to meet expectations.
Pacquiao looked and fought Frustrated. He never seem in complete control of this fight; To the point that anybody who watched this fought could notice that Pacquiao fought this fight in complete fear of being countered by Mosley right hand.
It was apparent from round 2 that Mosley was only there for a pay check, and Pacquiao still could not get him out of there. All he had to do was pick up the pace and take the risk necessary to Knock him out BUT HE COULD NOT DO IT. He excuse was Mosley ran from him. Well Cotto ran from you too Pacquiao and you knock him out.
btw, coming to last night fight. Mosley had not WON A FIGHT IN 2 YEARS! And was 39 Years Old!
Question: Why did people boo and walk out of last night fight?
COMPARISIONS TO MAYWEATHER
So what you will about Mayweather performance against Shane, except for in round 2, Mayweather never seemed frustrated, confuse, and timid to attack Mosley. As a matter of fact. The impressive thing about that victory was how Mayweather completely control, and dominate Mosley to point where Nazim Richardson threatened to stop the fight. Not once did Nazim threaten to do that in this fight.
Pacquiao on the other hand had the luxery of watching and studying Mayweather performance against Shane, and learning from Mayweather’s mistakes. Mayweather did not have that same luxary. Freddie Roach is supposedly is such a great trainer, but it is obviously now why they are fighting Mayweathers left-overs. It is because he is stealing Mayweather’s blueprints to success of beating the opponent. And when Pacquiao fights Mayweather’s leftovers that capitalize on the mistakes they made against Mayweather, and minimize the strengths they showed against Mayweather. Which is not a bad thing. However, Not since 2008 have we seen Pacquiao look so confuse, frustrated, and gun shy as we saw last night.
Question: Now that we can compared and contrast the 2 wins, which win was more impressive Mayweather's or Pacquiao's
MOSLEY'S JAB
Mosley was able to keep Pacquaio at bay with his weak excuse for a jab.
Mosley confused Pacquiao just simply circling around him. As a result Pacquiao never establish an CONSITANT rhythm in his attack. He had burst of combination, and spent the rest of his time getting frozen by Mosley’s jab.
Question: What about Mosley's Jab kept Pacquiao at distance?
SO WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?
According to team Pacquiao, had leg cramps, over-trained a little bit , dehydrated, stiffness in his left front calf which happened even in his first fight with Juan Manuel Marquez.
All the excuses do not take away from the simple truth that Pacquiao has trouble with Movement. Add to the Pacquiao footwork last night was remarkably terrible last night. WHY?
He came in a straight lines, very few in and out combinations, and feinted more than a fat ***** in heat.
ONE REASON: Mosley’s JAB, and Mosley counter RIGHT HAND!
Mosley Jab controlled the distance.
Mosley Threat of his right hand Control Pacquiao!
Question: After Pacquiao's performance against Mosley, Do you think Last Night performance did more Harm than Good?
It was mosley who failed not pacquiao. pacquiao tried to put action but this black american mosley kept doing the high fives and hugging and running. now go fawk urself in the anus with ur dildo named floyd!
lol this sums it all....
you're right, Floyd was awesome in his fight against Mosley....except for this...
i was trying to find a clip of Mayweather knocking Mosley on his ass, but I can't seem to find any....but there was this clip...

Styles make fights.
I expected SSM to attck, or maybe wait to counter with some big shots.
He didnt do either.
I think Pac was waiting for Shane to throw KO punches, plus add to that Pacs leg problems, and u have a bad fight without much action.
Pac set the bar so high, even when he wins every round his performance can be criticised.
round 2: floyd almost gets dropped
round 3: pacquiao dropped the dude hat almost dropped floyd
it really doesn't surprise me that you think that boats are an investment. you're one of the biggest imbeciles in the forums, and that says A LOT about you :lol1:
almost doesnt mean anything. USC almost won a national championship but did they? no.
Listen, The expectations and measurement of success for this fight were set by Bob Arum, Freddie Roach, Koch, Ariza, and Pacquiao.
They went on record and said they wanted to outdo Mayweather's performance against Mosley. And they did not.
Their public objective was not just getting the "W"
Their public objective was to put on a better performance than Mayweather.
And if we compare both fights side by side.
One win was impressive
One win was not and left people very pissed off
Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley former Partner even was quoted as saying.
"Mosley quit, and just wanted to survive and not get knock out against Mayweather."
Mosley STOP engaging with Mayweather after round 3.
But guess What?
Mayweather didnt need Mosley to engage to make his performance look good.
He brought the fight to Mosley, and beat his ass up. Running and all.
Pacquiao had a dead man walking from round 3 on and the Offensive machine Pacquiao could not finish the job! Instead he fought out of character and he disappointed alot of people.
it was a dead man RUNNING.
Pac couldn't finish the job simply because Mosley wasn't actually fighting anymore after the third round but RUNNING.
as soon as Pac connected ONCE, Mosley backpedaled like there was no tomorrow.
real talk as usual form Horus :fing02:
I see Shane is being blamed for the long faces....Arum and Team Pac just slide through even though they cherrypicked Shane...smh....nut ass lame ass lil' dudes talking about running....Manny looks like sh!t and its Shane's fault :lol1:....like yall EXPECTED Manny to look good or something..lol...GTFOH
Real ****. Shane was too good in 2009 and 2010 but he was just right in 2011!!
I wonder what happen between that time!!
But you're being biased towards Mayweather because you're a hardcore fan of his, because people on the flip side can say that Pacquiao hurt Mosley worse than Mayweather and dropped him and didn't lose a single round against Mosley, which can't be said for Mayweather. But being they're biased towards Pacquiao, it's irrelevant to a Mayweather fan.
In the end, you're always going to side with Floyd regardless of the situation.
Pacquiao doesnt not get the benefit of the doubt, Because this fight was an obvious cherry pick, and was suppose to be all about Manny Knocking Shane Out! "Manny wants to be the first guy to Knock Mosley out" Was the selling point!!
Well guess what, it did not happen. Once again The expectations and measurement of success for this fight were set by Bob Arum, Freddie Roach, Koch, Ariza, and Pacquiao.
Mosley ran is not an excuse. Mosley was running when Pacquiao knock him down! So if Pacquiao can knock Mosley down while he was "running" he can knock him out while he was "running".
After all Manny knock out Cotto while he was "running"
The reason Manny did not go for the knock out was because he was scared of mosley's right hand, he was frustrated by Mosleys movement, and he kept getting off set by Mosley's jab!!
Overall it was a bad performance. And it left alot of people pissed off.
And it's the common perception that "The World Awaits" didn't live up to the hype with good reason ; it didn't. As you said.
And I agree that Mayweather's performance against De La Hoya was not a bad one at all.
However you're trying to make the argument that because Pacquiao's performance was not up to snuff, the man failed at what he set out to achieve.
But you're neglecting the fact that while not pretty ; the fight was an absolute shutout.
And getting the "W" is always the goal, isn't it?
So by that standard, I'd say Manny achieved his goal. Quite easily, I might add.
All fighters have "off" nights. It even happens to the greatest of the great. I wouldn't consider it a "failure". Especially not when it comes in the form of a shutout.

The difference is Manny for the first time in a long time fought a thinking man's fight with Mosley.
so, it's fine if Floyd fights "a thinking man's fight", but Pacquiao is doing harm to himself in doing the same thing?
First of all, if anyone deserves an off night it's Pacquiao. Second, as we all know, styles make fights. Shane came in VERY cautious, on the defensive and with movement, which obviously is not what Pac has seen the last few fights. However, I feel he carried the fight, considering Shane decided to fight like a cunt. I mean, if you're losing EVERY round by round 6 or 7, go to war!!! Let your hands go!! This was supposed to be fight of the year for the sole reason the expectations were based on the fighter's styles. Pac did what he could, and it was very similar to the Clottey fight, except he did score a legit knockdown in the 3rd. You're a hater, it's obvious. I am not a Pac die-hard, but the truth is plain to see.
P.S. your grammar sucks.
I think it is common perception that the fight did not lived up to expectations.
I agree, it failed to live up to expectations.
However, Mayweather did not put on a bad performance in that fight.
He was not frustrated, timid, gun shy, or scared of de la hoyas left hook.
Like Pacquiao was with Mosley!

Do you guys understand the reason why Manny did not get hit with Mosley's right hand?
Pacquiao had the luxury of watching and studying Mayweather's performance against Shane, and learning from Mayweather’s mistakes.
Mayweather did not have that same luxury. So he did not fight scared as shit of Mosley's right hand like Pacquiao did!!How could Mayweather not have the same luxury? It's been known that Shane has a monster of a right hand even before his fight with Floyd. Floyd would have known this if he just studied Shane's fights.
I think it is common perception that the fight did not lived up to expectations.

So then by your own opening post ; Floyd failed against Oscar.
Why? Because he failed to live up to the hype, people were boo'ing him, and a multitude of people got up and walked out of the arena before the fight even ended.
Congrats.
I think it is common perception that the fight did not lived up to expectations.
