He gets hit more then he should considering the guys he is fighting. Talk to me after his next fight and tell me how great his face blocked all of those punches. It still good though. If they landed around 35% or close to 40% of their total punches, then i'd agree with you.

You mean Maidana outlanded all 3 of his opponents? A lot of punches on Maidana are landed on his gloves. If you actually watched his fights. a lot of them hit him right on the chin and mouth he's easy to hit and comes forward

Yes, he did outlanded all three, but the numbers are still close. Whenever you allowed your opponents to landed around almost 40% of their total punches, then your defense isn't good.

...Well I think Marquez is a legendary counter-puncher... but being a great counter puncher doesn't mean you have a great defense... Marquez was getting tested defensively often times by inferior fighters... Katsidis, Diaz.. i've seen probably 30+ Marquez fights including alot of his earlier stuff . The guy was really defensive. He changed his style of fighting as he aged so now he gets hit a lot more than his younger days specially because hes almost 40 but I wouldn't say he deserves to be in a list of the top 5 worst defensive boxers today.
