Boxing Champ Busted for Domestic Violence | NBC Miami

The man with arguably the fastest hands in boxing has been arrested in Miami and accused of using his skills illegally outside the ring, Miami-Dade police said Thursday.
Yuriorkis Gamboa, 29, was taken to jail this morning and charged with domestic violence after he tried to stop his wife from leaving their Miami-Dade home, an arrest report stated.
According to police, cops got a call at 3:14 a.m. from Dunia Francisco, Gamboa's wife, who was crying.
Francisco was trying to leave the house because she felt Gamboa was cheating on her, she told police. The couple began to argue, when Francisco told Gamboa that she was taking their young son with her, police said.
That's when Gamboa allegedly grabbed his wife's arm and then the back of her neck to stop her, the arrest report stated. Police said she had several scratches and redness on her arms and neck from the incident.
Gamboa admitted to police he tried to stop his wife from taking their son, and he was arrested.
lmao U guys are idiots,Is it normal for your mothers or sisters to get
slapped around?
U must don't have any kids if u did u would understand. Not saying a man should beat a woman ass smack her anything like that but wtf they married it's his kid too it's 3am in the morning he should just let her wake the kid up and take the kid out like he ain't got no rights or nothing huh. U talking like her beat her ass he grabbed her arm and that back of her neck..
Alright. But I hope you realise that Gamboa ain't a bad person for doing what he did, he was only acting like a FATHER.
You need to understand that all women ain't saints, there's no need to put them on a pedestal.
Women should offcourse be treated with respect... But you should treat everybody with respect man or woman.
Some people act like women should get away with murder. If a woman murdered somebody they'd say something like "ah let her go, how would you feel if YOUR mother or sister was sent to prison?" LOL.
EVERY woman is somebodys mother or sister or daughter, but that means NOTHING. It doesn't stop them from doing wrong or acting badly... just like it doesn't stop your father or brother from acting badly. Or what? Is your sister better than your brother? Is your mother better than your father? Not in my case!
He (onechance87) can't understand because he isn't a father. And he will never be, because he's too puto, gay, queer, ***, *****, loca, sinvergüenza, sissy, nancy, puñal, etc. Do you know why I know that? Because onechance87 CAN'T take the word "puto" out of his mouth. He loves to say it because it was the first word he heard and learned.
Hey, onechance, puto, women don't like putos and puñales, you'd better straighten up.
i would of let the bltch go.Its the kids choice where they wanna go.If
there young i would let my lawyer do there job to get my kid.
too complicated. i'd rather just just smack the b1tch, grab the kid, pimpwalk your way to your ferrari/lambo.
She didn't get slapped around.
Seriously, you and alot of other wanna-be "gentlemen" act like women SHOULD get away with ANYTHING.
If you was in his position you'd do the same thing. She was acting like a Bitch.

Forgivable? Gamboa did NOTHING wrong, he doesn't need anybody forgiveness.
Seriously! They are getting rediculous with these domestic abuse charges. Would it have been better if he grabbed the kid by his legs, the mom by the arms and they had a tug of war with the kid? Gimme a break!
why do people remain at the house after the woman calls the police...my father was arrest friday for this type sh1t...
Really, Floyd got arrested again! I thought it was on gun charge stemming from the security guards incident.
Nothing wrong what Yuriorkis did, IMO. I would have probably reacted in the same way if he was taking away my son.
I think I just became a fan of his.
........fix't
if you watch ringlife gamboa he has a proud father, and gamboa is also a proud father with a son. So he gets very emotional when the ***** tried to take him.
;10482473']Another stupid bitch. Just great. I wish Gamboa the best, he's a cool kid.
Pactards are gonna add Gamboa to the wife beater list.
No, not really. Gamboa is cool in my book.

your backwards ass belief system would align you with this barbarism, wouldn't it.

Another article, same info, words from his attorney:
Police arrested a Cuban boxer known as “The Cyclone of Guantanamo” after being accused of domestic violence in Miami-Dade Thursday.
The rising Cuban star Yuriokis Gamboa Toledano, 29, is being accused of hurting his wife Dunia Francisco. He was booked about 5 a.m., and his bond was set at $1,500.
“What happened is a personal matter,” said Gamboa’s attorney Tony Gonzalez. “There were no hits, or excessive violence.”
According to police Gamboa and Francisco’s argument about an alleged infidelity got physical about 3 a.m. Gamboa said he grabbed Francisco by the neck, as she tried to leave the house with their son.
Her injuries included redness and several scratches on her arms and neck.
Gamboa, who was born in Guantanamo, Cuba, has risen to the top of the featherweight ranks.
He won gold medals during the Pan American Games in 2003 and at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
While training in Venezuela in 2006, Gamboa defected to Colombia, and then to Germany, where he applied for a visa to enter the U.S. He now lives and trains in Miami.
He became known in the U.S., after his Oct. 30, 2007 victory against Adailton De Jesus at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
“We are sure that this incident will not affect the career of a boxer like him,” said Gonzalez. “It will make him stronger and turn him into a better person.”

And yeah man, I know about the laws, but I think I'd have done the same if the woman had tried to leave with my sons just because we had an argument. You don't control those kind of emotions. If he had hit her, then that would be another story and he'd deserve to be put in jail and pay for it.
