Mayweather vs. Ortiz closing in on a sept date.

Don't know if this has been posted yet. http://www.kansan.com/news/2011/may/03/welterweight-champion-world-visits-lawrence/?sports Next, Ortiz will face Floyd Mayweather Jr. The details of the fight are still being worked out, but Ortiz said contracts should be signed soon. May not materialize but the talks are definately taking place.

I.believe Floyd said he wasn't fighting this summer, Fall starts Sept 23rd, so he is only part lying

if they fight each other, it will be a decent fight. floyd would be fighting a young boxer coming off an impressive win.

if they fight, will it be in dallas? ROger, floyds uncle and trainer said talks are taking place for a dallas fight, but floyd has since come out to say he was lying. who knows at this point.

you could argue that september is no where soon. I guess. That would be signed soon, though. Would be quite strange him coming out and saying that then having a fight signed a few weeks later. Just seems unlikely to me.

Not really because Andre Berto skill level isn't on Pac or Floyds level. Well ofcourse not no arguement theere, but ortiz was counted out just as much during the lead in to the berto fight.

Ok so now its fresh of ww named victor Ortiz before that it was Paul spadafora and Matthew hatton. Il just wait until Floyd comes out hiding to believe his ring return; right now it's just speculations but gives hope to the flomos that there hero will come out and save them fromm being a lady gaga fan.

Ortiz has no chance of ever beating fighters with the skill level of a Floyd or Pac... Replace the word floyd with the word andre in your post and you could have posted the same thing 4 weeks ago. :bottle:
