Pound-for-pound: Mayweather’s exit allows all rated No. 3 or below last week to climb one rung each and makes room for Miguel Cotto to return at No. 10.

You're looking at resume only. That's not what pound 4 pound is about. It's the opinion of who you think are the top 10 fighters in the world.
Ward beat the #1 guy in kessler, that counts for something. That's more than anyone else has done at 168. He's a heavy favorite to beat Abraham next and he's the favorite to win the super six tournament.
Donaire beat Vic but he didn't do much after and yet was ranked #5 and #4 I believe at one point (prior to montiel). Ward is going a similar thing, he beat a top guy and beat a couple decent/good but not great guys since. What the ring, and many others, are doing is placing him in the top 10 based on his wins, his skills, his potential, etc.
Donaire did more between vic d and montiel than ward's done (especially cuz the win vs kessler is trumped by the vic win and the montiel win. plus donaire has looked FAR FAR FAR FAR more impressive than Ward. Ward has lost a lost of his luster as far as being a totally versatile fighter when he's stepped up the levels of his competition. he hasn't fought all that great from the outside and he hasn't blown out guys he should be murking.
pfp lists are what YOU want them to be. I don't care about skills and ability if they are not being displayed at a high level. If you care more about that, then Bute looks far more impressive in the way he blows through B level comp at 168.
Good for Cotto. He deserves to be in if Floyd is being dropped out completely.
Great list, except I would drop Bradley out and move up Segura and Ward.
Then I'd put Froch at #9 right below Ward and keep Cotto at #10.

Who cares wot that magazine thinks its very childish we all know who the 2best fighters in the world at the moment are,you can argue it either way and when the settle it(which they will)we 'll know for sure....As much as i respect cotto he dont deserve no top 10 place
He has beaten Kessler Bika and Green along with Miranda who were all rated highly when he beat them and resume isnt everything, skills, ability and potential all come into play when making a p4p list and once again its all subjective
P4P is over rated anyways, fighters need to handle thier buisness in their weight classes and defend their belts more if u ask me
Tho it helps get some good fights made that otherwise wouldnt and makes fighters want to "Shine" everytime out
bold- not true, pfp lists are what YOU want them to be. I don't care about skills and ability if they are not being displayed at a high level. If you care more about that, then Bute looks far more impressive in the way he blows through B level comp at 168.
I could not possibly agree more with the italics. See my post before if you care to get my opinion on those guy's being considered "highly rated" (post 52)
lol wins a against a 1 legged bum Foreman and a 37 year old coming out of a 2 year retirement = top 10 pound for pound?
Pac got the #1 p4p spot by defeating a retarded looking bum in David:dunce:Diaz.
Kessler was #1 at SMW
Bika was #6 at SWM
Allen Green was top 10
Pound 4 Pound isn't only resume based either, or else Carl Froch would be top 5 for sure. Pound 4 Pound also takes into consideration the skills one has, for example Donaire's high pound 4 pound rankings prior to beating Montiel.
Andre Ward most certainly deserves to be top 10 pound 4 pound, imo.
I'm not buying everyone's rankings at the time of these wins, it's far too simplistic of a way to determine someone's true worth as a fighter. I prefer to look at that opponent's status as a fighter (for example, when someone knocks cotto off now they're going to be a million fools talking about how their guy beat a top 10 pfp fighter- when that's a bunch of bullshi t).
green has ALWAYS been a mental midget and was never ever a top tier SMW, despite whatever ranking he was. Bika is a limited but very tough come forward guy. It takes as much of an elite talent to beat his as it does librado andrade. kessler was a good win (as I already mentioned).
There's plenty dudes out there with more than one good win on their resumes.
Donaire had a huge win vs a PFP guy already- Vic D. And skills are whatever. that's your opinion, I don't think Ward has looked all that skillful since the Miranda fight. Rough, yes, skillful no.
Best win Kessler does not give you a pfp spot, especially when one of your rivals is mashing out common opponents in a more spectacular fashion and another dude in you weight class has wins over Dirrell, Pascal, JT, and Abe.
he has no accomplishments that warrant pfp top 10 inclusion.... AT ALL.
He has beaten Kessler Bika and Green along with Miranda who were all rated highly when he beat them and resume isnt everything, skills, ability and potential all come into play when making a p4p list and once again its all subjective

You the Ring really has something against Ward. They usually go out of there way to suck off West Coast fighters. They do rate him #1 at 168 though so who knows what's up.
Cotto is literally shot. I could knock Cotto out.
how you figure? they have him on their list- and that's a total joke, I mean if you consider actual accomplishments in rating your pfp fighters.
Not sold on wins over:
Kessler
Miranda
Bika
Allan Green
Henry Buchannan
Shelby Pudwell
as pfp material. Apparently you are impressed by those killers.
I don't agree with Froch being top 5 or even top ten at this point I would say Ward should have been top 10..He is undefeated and has a better resume then Bute..But Froch is on Wards hills(despite having a better resume then Ward:grr:)but he does have that lose..There are some other things I don't agree with in ya post but i won't go there today,LOL...:nana:
undefeated has very very little to do with it. ward has one good win on his resume. the others are decent.
bute has a bunch of decent wins (although he looked much much better than ward vs common opponents)....froch has 3 good wins and one close loss and he has far better comp.
froch has the only case out of those 3 to be on ANY pfp list....
Well Ward is in my eyes an excellent fighter and one of the best all rounders in the game, he does Everything and does it well, he's fast, strong, talented has the ability to switch hit, fights well on the outside, is a demon on the inside, has good footwork and a great set of reflexes to go with a tidy defence
Just a top fighter.
Haye is a HW and normally they dont make the cut for me. Ring has Klitchko at 7 or some shiit but to me Wlad is a guy who if he wasnt towering over or outweighing his opponents wouldnt be winning and thats what p4p is all about - if everyone was the same size who'd prevail.
Haye tho has come from CW where he showed devastaing power, speed, smooth skills, pretty good reflexes and a big heart along with his finishers instinct. He's taken all those attributes up to HW with him and is still laying guys out only now he looks even quicker and sharper due to his bigger heavier opponents. Davids also got good footwork, especially for a HW.
I thought Haye might be a touch contraversial but its my pick and thats that after all these lists are all subjective anyway and hardly anyone agrees on them
he has no accomplishments that warrant pfp top 10 inclusion.... AT ALL.
