I saw his record in box rec, it seems to me the he made a career out fighting feather weight alexis arguello, is the only hall of famer I see in his record.
7-8 title defenses not too impress
Lol at khan having a snowball chance in hell of beating Pryor.
That's even dumber than all the idiots claimin Leonard and Duran were scared of Pryor and ducked him
Pryor is overrated doe, i checked his boxrec...hahahha :lol1: :lol1:

Khan doesn't have the skills and instincts necessary to beat a terrific fighter like Pryor.
That fight would be really, really ugly for Amir.
Pryor was wrong for Tszyu IMO too.
In recent years, obviously, Pacquiao and Mayweather would be the most interesting matchup for Pryor. I think style-wise, Manny matches up better to Pryor than Floyd does. I go back-and-forth with a Mayweather-Pryor matchup but I'd favor Manny to win a brutal fight against Aaron.
Indeed, I am pretty sure Khan gets had but if he keeps his distance and never gets gutsy he could possibly win, that certainly is less likely than Pryor mugging Khan something fierce. Everyone else there currently I could not envision any path to victory though.
Tsyzu also because I think Pryor gets in close and sticks to him like a cheap coat and once there Pyror would be eating Kostya's lunch.
Floyd and Manny would both be interesting fights for different reasons, I think Pryor could get done in by a truly superior boxer especially one who knows not to get overly brave but he would certainly get after Floyd and with Manny it would be an out and out who is the better man sort of deal.
Prime Pyror is tough nut to crack at 140, the only guy I would even give a shot is Khan based on style but I highly doubt he would not get cracked by the pressure put on him by Pryor.

If I'm not mistaken, Arguello was not P4P number one at the time, or at any for that matter, but it was an excellent win nonetheless. Arguello also hadn't done anything at that weight, he beat a nobody in Rooney, whereas Pac destroyed the Hatton and was lineal champ, I don't think it would be the equivalent.
Cervantes was past prime and Pryor had done nothing at lightweight to warrant a title shot.
You are mistaken because Arguello was P4P around the time of the Pryor fight, although he wasn't #1 (or at least from the lists of the editions available) (goes to find where he remembers it from)...

I could see why people would say Pryor is a bit over rated. The Hawk did beast on dudes but really his dossier of top win leaves something to be desired especially considering how certain fighters get dogged on here a great deal who you could certainly argue did quite a bit more.
The Ring Magazine ridiculously overrated Pryor.
They ranked him 30 spots over Thomas Hearns.
I guess turning down fights with Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran and beating Hearns as an 132 lb. amateur does wonders for your legacy, it's way better than winning titles from 147 to 175 and beating opponents like Pipino Cuevas, Duran, Wilfred Benitez, and Virgil Hill.
If Leonard-Pryor had ever fought Pryor would of got his azz whooped, detractors would simply discredit the win saying he picking on a smaller man. (while quickly forgeting all the **** they talked about how Pryor would destroy and overwhelm him) Just like they discredit Floyd for beating Marquez and Hatton, yet had Mayweather not fought him, they'd be saying he ducked Marquez/Hatton who called him out on National television. Just like they say Leonard ducked Pryor who called him out on Nat'l television.
Its what haterz do!
Not really sure how it's outrageous at all to have Mayweather over Hopkins. Hopkins spent much of his career fighting poor opposition at middleweight. Yeah, not his fault, but it is what it is, a sh!t era at 160. He's an amazing fighter, but his resume of wins tend to look better on paper then they really are. Some of the biggest wins on his ledger (Wright, Pavlik, DLH) were against guys who did nothing of note at the weight class they fought at.
How much extra credit should we give him because he did things at an old age?
Never mind.
Wrong thread....
Not only that, but stopping Arguello when he did is equivalent to stopping Pacquiao anytime after the Hatton fight. We're talking about stopping the P4P #1, future HOFer, and top 30 or 20 ATG.

The fact that he had to move up to 140 and fight future HOFer Cervantes because the lightweight titlists wouldn't give him a title shot at 135.
Cervantes was past prime and Pryor had done nothing at lightweight to warrant a title shot.
I sure do rank Floyd higher, I can see quite easily that Pac aint as good, sorry but u wont change my opinion, u just tell your boy to take the test, get his azz in the ring with Floyd, and we'll see who the ATG is
Cmon now.... Pac is miles above Floyd Mayweather when it comes to ATG status.... their resumes speak for themselves. Floyd may be more skilled and may even beat Pac but it doesn't change the fact that Pac is greater.. Unless Floyd does something dramatic in his late career fighting Pac, Martinez and probably one more reputable opponent.
How can Leonard be scared of Pryor when Leonard offered Pryor a career high payday and it was Pryor the one who turned it down?
You're arguing with people who refuse common sense, I know it's hard not to but don't bother.
BoxRec, ugh.
Some people overrate him, but actually watching him fight you know he was a relentless force of a fighter. Any fighter ever at 140 would have a rough time fighting him.
Well of course it will change if Floyd beats Pac. But, then again it might not. It all depends on how the careers end.
But, right now is Floyd>Pac. The only one from the last 15 years that can rival Pac greatness is Roy Jones.
But, I have it Pac>Roy>Hopkins>Floyd. I can't see how Floyd could be rank higher than the other 3 guys at all. You have to be a big nuthugger to do so.
How the **** are you going to rank Pac above Roy, B Hop, and Mayweather, are u ****ing crazy or just a blitzed out of your mind fanboy?
