Hey All,
I'm wondering how Pac would've fared against Vernon, Winky, Cotto (ok, we know that one), and Mayweather -Mosley's conquerors in the ring.
2001/02 Vernon Forrest was a rangy fighter with a great jab, solid right hand, and he knew how to fight clean and not-so-clean. How does Pac look against Vernon?
Winky Wright was ducked by Oscar, dominated Trinidad, defeated a prime Vargas (let's be real), and was a tough defensive nut to crack. Would Pac had busted through that turtle shell defense? Would Wink's face resemble a catchers mitt by the middle rounds?
Mayweather is, well, Mayweather. And we are all waiting to see if Pac and Floyd will get it on. In the meantime, no shame for Shane in coming up short against Floyd in the twilight of his career. Everyone knows their fight should've been back in 99/00.
I am a fan of both Pac and Shane. No hating here. I feel Pac has been overhyped these past couple of years but it has to go with the territory of becoming a crossover star. I've followed Shane religiously since the late nineties, through thick and thin, and despite all the controversies, I still believe the man is a class act and athlete.
I just think that in Shane's case, his 6 losses sound, on paper, much worse that they really are and I'm not convinced Pac would've fared much better against the remaining three, Vernon, Wink and Floyd.
OK Freddy Roach wannabe..
Manny simply doesn't move his damn head.
Don't get all mad...
Sure he does when he's not in range...but soon as he gets close..the head movement stops.
So now you admit Pacquiao does have head movement.
Here is a prime example of Pacquiao great head movement, body movement and footwork and speed.
You don't know shiit about boxing like most Pac fans.
Fanny is the one that is WIDE OPEN after he throws because he's so off-balance.
Manny did not give Clottey free shots you lousy moron..lol.
Easy Uncle Roger, maybe you should start watching boxing again.
Clottey was not throwing punches because he wasn't there to win.
Josh threw 11 punches and had Manny looking like he was run over by a stampede.
Yeah I think you are getting boxing mixed up with a beauty contest, they don't judge it on how you look at the end of the fight.

:bling: Another Uncle Roger wannabe.
This is a guy that thinks Pacquiao has no head movement. You don't even need to know boxing to see he has, you just need a pair of eyes and to have seen one of Pacquiao's recent fights.
Question, how can you miss the obvious?
Clottey was not throwing punches because he wasn't there to win.
Josh threw 11 punches and had Manny looking like he was run over by a stampede.
So now you want to say that Clottey was throwing the fight. Then why argue about Pac getting hit.. What happen to your so-called boxing knowledge and ability analyze a fight.

Pac was fighting in the pocket which he does not do.. He does that in the Clottey fight so that Clottey would throw and be open for counters, instead of always covering up.
Sorry ass Clottey couldn't miss Pac with uppercuts....
Forrest would have his head flying back like a Pez dispenser.
Joshua threw 11 punches and had Manny looking like he fell down an elevator shaft.
So you agree with me about Vernon because now you are gearing to a different discussion..
But lets look at Clottey.. Clottey was not throwing punches because he was waiting to counter fire until Pac stops throwing. Which is basically the way a fighter does when he implements a peek-a-boo style the way Winky and Abraham does. Pac is goin to win on decision because he will never stop throwing. That is of course if he allows the fighter to open up and punch to make it a fight which is what he did against Clottey..
Manny gets hit with the SAME punches over and over again because he doesn't move his head.
Clottey has ZERO power and he had Manny looking like he fell down several flights of stairs.
Floyd would land on Manny like rain on a tin roof.
There is a reason Arum won't let this fight happen.
Manny gave Clottey free shots to open him up, maybe he will do the same to Floyd, but when Clottey did throw punches he had to take some back.
When Floyd throw he is open and there is no one better at picking a punch when the leathered is flying than Manny Pacquiao.
Forrest is a tough one, his range, jab and right hand give Pac all the trouble he can handle
Winky is a better fighter than Clottey for sure but he tucks up in his shell in the same way when under attack and thats what Manny does - attack! Attack with machine gun bursts. I think Pac takes it on poiunts but Wright would let him know he'd been in a fight UNLIKE Clottey
Cotto Manny beat.
Floyd i think beats Pacquaio
Pac doesn't move his head and is wide open down the middle.
If he could beat Floyd he would have signed the fight when he had a 5050 split and 14 days to de-juice.
Pacquiao does move his head, his body and his footwork never stop, always moving side to side and back and forth.
Beside Mayweather doesn't have the power to trouble Pacquiao and will have to throw more than single, which Pacquiao will want, because the more Floyd throws the more open he will be.

Cotto he would beat at any stage, Winky may be too big, at 147lbs Pacquiao beats him though, but I think Pacquiao's pressure, style could see him take a UD even at 154. Forrest, good jab, long rangy but Pacquiao is an excellent judge of distance and Pacquiao power would be too much for Forrest and Pacquiao would catch him.
Pacquiao would beat Mayweather, he has the advantages where it matters, in speed, workrate, power, footwork and combination punches.
If Pac couldn't deal with Morales' and JMM's right hands...he sure as hell couldn't deal w/those long right hand bombs from Forrest.
Arum wouldn't even let Pac fight Zahir Raheem...no way would he let Forrest kill his cash cow.
You kiddin' me. The right hand that you are refering where from the counter attacks that JMM threw when Pac missed. But JMM was KD and suffered a very bad cut from those punches. Meaning JMM was getting tagged a lot as well. Now Mayorga threw looping hard punches, and still able to connect on Forrest to knock him out. How do you think Pac would do when he is a lot faster, accurate, and as a strong puncher than Mayorga was at that time..
And FYI, Arum was not Zahir's promoter..Arum was the promoter of Morales at that time. He had no control of Pac's career at all in 2006..
he would have got beaten by all of them...i mean all of them!!!!!!there is the coot argument; just look at the fight; a very questionable w for cotto...but it is what it is. pac would get his head taken off by vernon; laughed at by winky; and embarrassed by floyd
I'm not sure about Winky...
I think a high workrate and speed like Mannys beat Winky...Now Winky is a bigger fighter for real.
Manny did and will ever do better than Mosley against Cotto because Manny's style is all wrong for miguel.
I think Vernon beat Manny, I agree...probably Floyd too.

Vernon Forrest lose to style-less brawler in Mayorga twice. In the first fight, he got KO'd. Even if you say that Mayorga was at his peak at that time, his style has remained the same.. Pac is a far better fighter, brawler than any version of Mayorga..
Wright is probably too big for Pac so that's more a 50/50 fight.. But he employs a peak-a-boo style.. And you know what happened to the last guy that Pac fought with that style.. The guy couldnt get off.
Mayweather is a fight that could have take place for a whatever reason 2 years ago. And that's a 50/50 fight as well. That's why there is a such a demand for that fight...
He already beat Cotto. Or more like Cotto was beaten up by Pac.
So there's your answer and stop treating this like its such a big deal..
