The only thing that this video proved is that Kimbo Slice's boxing is really bad and that Michael Jai White must train with really ****ty pro boxers if he thinks that this is wisdom. It's 50% basic boxing knowledge that you will learn in the first 2 or 3 hours with your coach if he is at least decent (speed over power, technique over loading up the punches), 50% bull**** (now try catch my hand with no reaction from 2 inches away while I'm looking away, funny, see how you couldn't do that. Now for my next trick, pull one card, remember it and put it back into the deck...).
This is BRUCE LEE all over! Further more brucelee got inspiration from JACK DEMPSEY...
This is why Lee demonstrated the inch punch with practically NO telegraphing, to show u do not have to put your whole shoulder and body into the punch unnecessarily...
Wing chun teaches straight non telegraphed punches, I use that technique and dempseys technique throwing a jab and it is very hard to read, thrown right it can cause as much damage as a straight..
Now that's the theory, against a trained fighter who can take a punch and constantly moving and unpredictable??? maybe it's better to have the normal boxers jab???
Some skilled boxers telegraph punches on purpose but it's called a feint. You feint when you want your opponent to think you're going to do a certain thing just to get him to react to the feint then you pop him with the real shot once he takes the bait. But what would this guy know about that since he has chains that attack evil demonic clowns. GTFOH with that sh!t Spawn!
A fat out of shape and past his prime James Toney would feint this thespian out of his socks if he ever got in the ring and fought instead of talking on the set of one of his Oscar worthy movies!
I don't know why this guy is wasting his time giving such "valuable" advice away for free. Instead of acting and making whatever amount of money he makes for his "amazing" acting skills he should just become a pro boxer and whoop everyone and make millions in the process since it should be easy for him since according to this "expert" boxers don't know how to punch!
I find it kind off funny that this is an actor talking to a street brawler about how pro boxers don't know how to punch!
The guy seems to be pretty big, maybe a cruiserweight or a small heavyweight but I would bet almost anything that a 175 pound Hopkins beats the Sh!t out of him.
This actor should stick to making straight to DVD movies!
I don't see any of that working in a boxing match or a street fight. Something like that will not work in such an explosive environment. There is no need in jeopardizing speed, technique, power, and movement just to throw an off-balance punch to put someones reactions off. We can put them off-balance without even extending a punch... it's called a feint! And what's funny to me is that he says we're taught wrong just because of the reactionary trait. He believes that single trait is what a punch's sole purpose is over the aforementioned traits? Makes absolutely no sense. The day this guy steps into a ring and not a set to prove his point against a boxer with the least bit of amateur experience is the day I take him seriously.

The ideas put forth are useful, but there's more to punching than what Michael discusses. Fundamental boxing indeed teaches you not to telegraph punches. In order to "chain" punches, body weight must be shifted. Also, the body must be kept in motion in order to move more athletically, explosively. White is demonstrating single "arm" punches with no real power behind them. Connecting with a single blow is much more useful in a streetfight than in a boxing match.
Box an an elite boxer Mr. white, bet they whoop yoor tail boy. Roy jones jr is the king of non telegraphed punching. I respect his input but disagree
That is the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this video. You honestly never knew where Roy Jones was going to punch and from at what angle he was going to throw his punches.
He makes good points for really amateur Boxing put when you talk about guys like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Donaire, Gamboa, Sergio Martinez, and Andre Ward.
Don't over think it guys.
This doesn't work for everyone.
It works for Michael Jai White because
He is SPAWN.
