Yet he's favourite to win the rematch against Pascal.
You think it'll affect his performance being a favourite leading into the bout?
Or do you think all the press conference stuff between them has added more fuel to Hopkins fire, to go out there and win.
he has the same motivation whether he's the favorite or not and that is becoming the oldest person in history to win a major world championship.
one thing is he seems to do better when he fights frequently - He didn't fight for a year after he beat Tarver and didn't look too great against winky. he didn't fight for about another year then looked poor against calzaghe. he fought pavlik immediately after and look fantastic. he then took another year off and didn't look good against jones/ornelas. Fought pascal immediately after Jones and looked great. This rematch is only 4 months after the first fight so if this pattern holds true he'll have another good fight.
but who knows he's 46 years old the first pascal fight could have been his last great performance. Like Nazim said at this age you cant go to the Well too often, eventually it's going to be dry.
Powerful Post! x
