How good was the so-called prime Jones jr could he have lasted 12 rounds with the prime legendary G.O.A.T joe calzaghe without getting battered and humiliated. Was he good enough to have taken the 0 from J0E?........or dared to try
Roy never fought anyone good at his prime besides inconsistent flat-footed fat James Toney, who would lose to anyone good. I don't see him dominating prime Hopkins or Calzaghe.

Its sad how someone as talented as 'Jones will be remembered for the following
1. Fighting Civil servants during his prime
2. Having the worst Chin in the history of boxing
3. Losing disgracefully every time he fought someone above C level
4. Being a steroid cheater
calzaghe was willing to fight both guys when they were in there prime, if i recall he was even willing to come to states even before he did, cal gets a bad rap when put up against prime jones and hopkins but it was calzaghe who wanted to face them years earlier than when they aggreed to face calzaghe
and it sucks if roy needs money, i thought it was all about pride. jones made a lot of money fighting lesser fighters same way berto has
jones jr. was a badass at one time but people started to find out he didn't want to face the fighters that possed the most risk, thanks to the titles he hid behind some weak rankings, roy could have beat them all, but styles make fights and in boxing you just never know
hopkins should never have lost to taylor but taylor was a young fighter with a strong attitude like no recent opponet of hopkins but hopkins vindicated himself
Thats a two way street-_- I mean if he wanted to fight he shoulda came over and got known and then fought them.
Plus people say he didn't he says he did.
That logic was as good as when Floyd said he wanted to fight casomyor but didn't it's the same for Joe just did it Ultra late.
And joes record is a bad as jones they beat good people but both beat alot of bums as did Hopkins.
sounds good. but i recall when all this call out was happening.
explain why roy never fought collins when went up to him after one of roys fight?
roy could have been one of the greatest but just like his dad pertected him early one, roy later protected himself, how ironic its this protection the reason roy left his dad in the first place
calling out doesn't necessarily mean you want to fight someone. look at floyd-pac situation. it's also used as a way to promote yourself. calzaghe was never serious about fighting jones or hopkins in the usa that is clear from his remarks, resume, and actions. collins probably was serious since he fought a lot of tough fighters throughout his career but i would have to look into the details and see. did his promoter ever offer roy jones a fight?
we've gone over this in other threads with many articles to back it up but calzaghe said himself he was scared of flying to the usa for fights but then at the same time he was seen flying to go on holiday so that was a bullshi-t lie. his own promoter says calzaghe never wanted hard fights and only wanted to be matched soft. warren had to beg and plead for calzaghe to even fight lacy in his home country. it's pretty clear he didn't want any of these tough fights until they were super over the hill.

calzaghe refused to face glen johnson and came up with suspicious injuries every time the fight was signed. you think he's gonna want to face jones or hopkins? it doesn't add up with all the evidence we have. it's pretty clear he didn't want any of these tough fights until they were super over the hill.
Reason: jones ain't the man anymore and supposedly needs the money.
And two Hopkins Has fought one dude over seas in like 14 years or sum like that. So that everybody stuff was pointless

i blame jones and hopkins for not accepting to fight calzaghe, where as now jones and hopkins will travel out of the country to challenge anyone...ironic

:lol1::lol1:
Yeah, Roy is the exact same as he was in his prime. Great footwork, killer reflexes.. he's got it all but a chin.. Right? :dunce:
well said my man! well said!
My last post of the thread: Anyone who knows boxing and has a set of eyes can see that a prime Roy is a superior athlete and fighter to Calzaghe, so I won't waste any more of my time with this ridiculous argument.

1.) Calzaghe never fought anybody at all until they were completely shot, at least Roy has a W over the 93 version of Hopkins
2.) If you think Roy has the worst chin in the history of boxing, then you haven't watched a lot of boxing. Is his chin great? Not at all, but worst ever is LMFAO worthy.
3.) James Toney and 93 Hopkins > Anyone Calzaghe has ever fought, so what letter grade do the guys on his resume get? D? F?
