Canelo=Juanma

i hope not because the ginger race will be disappointed

Does anyone else see Canelo as a ko waiting to happen? I like his power and fighting style like I do Juanma's but i think when he steps up to a puncher around his size he gets stopped. I still think both Juanma and Canelo will have solid careers but will never live up to the hype. Juanma has a lot more KO power than Canelo. Canelo has A LOT more work to do but he does not seem to present a lot of great physical attributes.

angulo vs. cotto ? Very good fight i could see Cotto outboxing him or Angulo's stoping Cotto late with pressure. That would be 50-50.

that would be a good fight Angulo rapes him. Maybe in a couple years that would be a good fight but now it would be a massacre.

i agree with you...if he dominates and ko's rhodes he definitely needs to be taken serious.i just wonder who will fight him when he does Angulo is actually the number one contender not Rhodes. I know he would love to get a shot at Canelo.

i can see where you are coming from but those men are not standard fare for a man his age. i dont think anybody is saying we have proof that he's some iron chinned monster if he was as talentless he'd still be in mexico and nobody would know who he was. he's at least solid fighter. having an aesthetic style and charisma certainly doesnt hurt anybody, but it's not all he's got going for him the first garden variety puncher he faces isnt just going to cause him to throw his gloves up and walk out of the ring he's certainly "hyped" he's what the fans have made him in the end he doesnt look to me to be the next great mexican fighter but he's going to be a rich one and a fun one to watch and he's a very complete 20 year old professional boxer I can agree with most of this. Im not trying to say he or Juanma are bums i just think both will never live up to the hype and can be exposed by people that they are "supposed" to beat.

These are exactly the type of low risk name opponents you feed a fighter who has questions. Reed remember though, the dude was always huge. That was one of the biggest misconceptions about the Berto fight that Berto was going to be so much bigger than him, it was the other way around. I think Ortiz wasn't at the right weight class, even though he said he had no problem making 140lbs. You can see how his body has filled in at 147 and is there naturally. Dude is built like a beast. He was definitely big for his weight class... but he made a dude a weight class up look small... Berto was getting punched by a damn SMW (technically :))

Ortiz is pretty baffling to me at this point. Dude was fighting at 140. Comes in vs Berto as a god damn super middleweight. Onlyyyyyyyyyy he's RIPPED to shreds over 160lbs?! Seemingly lost no speed... basically got bigger stronger and faster, and his stamina was even better than before. it does seem a bit much for his first fight at ww the only explanation is youth and growth he's always had a lot of muscles in the core. he's built like a SS or corner without the length maybe not having to make 140 was the best thing for him and he should have made the jump years ago wartiz was the monster that some people thought berto was going to be / wishes he was he ate huge punches he's still a huge puncher at ww he throws nothing but power and he's all offense wartiz would murder rios at 145 (complely unrelated;) rios might be hurting himself staying at 135 these days as well unless his guys know somehting we dont i havn't heard a peep from rios, in fact. you know if ortiz looked terrible rios would be all over the boxosphere with his anti wartiz rhetoric

i think anyone can get knocked out, all it takes is one punch to change the fight. the way he fights, eating shots, i think he has a pretty decent chin. when he got rocked by cotto that was due to carelessness imo. he bounced back and stopped him, so i think he proved he could adapt or pick himself up if he was put on the spot. i think he is overhyped, but it's natural for someone like him (young undefeated with a huge fanbase). i don't expect him to stay undefeated, i actually want him to lose soon because i think it'll make him better and he can actually learn from his mistakes...time will tell with this kid.
