stevemaxboxing, Steve Kim:
told that a rematch between James Kirkland-Nobu Ishida is in the works Golden Boy's July PPV card
what do ya think? i honestly think ishida takes it again and i think piroq vs ishida should be made and winner gets martinez.:boxing:
I'm hoping James gets back to basics, still think he needs to do whatever to get Anne back in his corner. She killed him in training, so by the time he hit the ring, his opponents couldn't do anything worse than what he had done in the previous 9 weeks.
Golden Boy's July PPV card?
Could one suspect that this means Khan v Bradley will be the main event on that PPV? Lesser fights have headlined on HBO PPV.
This could be the end for Kirkland here. A loss to Ishida again is damaging and his popularity will fall dramatically. I'm all for it, but Kirkland has to win.
Kirkland better come mentally prepared. Everyone says he had too many fights but they were 1st and 2nd Rnd KO's. SO he wasn't worn, but complacent.
Ishida could outbox him again. But fight would be closer.
Kirkla will steamroll him. I mean Kirkland train for only 2 weeks for that fight he was week and out of sync.
Kirkland was training like 2-3 months, when Ishida probably only 1-2 weeks. Kirkland's previous 2 fights didn't hurt him at all when opponents landed not more than 5 punches in total 3 rounds.
ishida was far his best opponent. the gym was an interm champ, so i dont know why they thought he was gonna get steam rolled. he can box, and set him self up. i think kirkland can win a rematch if he has a game plan and uses defense. if not, he will be ko'ed again, whether stoppage from so called flash kds or vicious counters.
Ishida is a solid fighter who has never been stopped despite facing a decent level of competition. In all fairness he was probably the best opponent Kirkland ever fought, and we saw the result. It will take a lot of improvement on Kirkland's part to overcome him. This is not to say that he can't but it's a vital fight to his career. A loss here and we can't put it off as a fluke or a bad night, just a case of Kirkland meeting a better fighter who had his number.
If Ishida wins, he proves he is better without a doubt and deserves to get another big fight. He was a title holder before so a title eliminator/title fight is not out of question for him as long as he wins.
This is a good thing for Kirkland, because circumstances just didn't seem in his favor that night. This was probably a loss he needed.
If Kirkland gets knocked out again in the same fashion, where would he go from there?
I think Kirkland can and will win the rematch, but we'll know when we see it.
Kirkland will bounce back, late TKO
Kirkland claims it was a fluke, an unfair stoppage, then there should be a rematch.
if this rematch gets made, kirkland will have to work harder than ever. if he loses i dont think hell be seen as a threat and more of a bum therefore, he will just be fighting nobodies again. i honestly think this will make him or break him.:boxing:

yeah, i honestly think this fight will either make him(kirkland) or brake him.
