You can kinda see why Amir Khan is disliked by some........
You know I used to feel sorry for Khan, I used to think he actually was a victim, that he was no more arrogant than 95% of other fighters, but still got chastised, probably due to his religion/race. I always thought fans who hated him used the "he's too cocky" to legitimate their hatred of him, kinda like a vehicle to pedal their hate without giving the real motivation behind their hate. However the other night(Khan's interview) kinda showed me there might of been some legitimacy in the criticisms that Khan was too arrogant/cocky. I mean how patronizing was Amir Khan in his post fight interview? and did you here Khan in the post fight presser? cringe worthy. All this on the heels of his interview after the Maidana fight, which was another interview which was a bit meh
It seems to me Khan is rediscovering the arrogance that made him such hated figure. One things for sure, Khan is having himself big time.
What got me, was when he started talking about the difference between world and European level, I mean, get over yourself Lol
That what got me also, who is he to say that. They are a lot of great European fighters. When he got KOed by Prescott I wonder what category he puts him.
I don't think he is cocky, he is not that smart when he says stuff and at times sounds like a Jackass
I like Khan fine, but aside from the limited Maidana, Khan has been matched very carefully. Thats why many haven't jumped on the khan hugging bandwagon. He will have to step up eventually, then, if successful, things might change.
I know, man. It's just pathetic of them for not just saying straight out why they dislike him. Because that arrogance reason is just straight bullsh*t.
How is it BS? You trying to play the race card? GTFO with that ****, he is the most arrogant boxer around 2nd behind Mayweather, but atleast Mayweathers arrogance is partly an act, Khan is just plain arrogant.
yeah but you said before that khan headbutted him.. after watching the video you can see if anyones to blame for the headbutt its mccloskey.. whether it was intentional or not is another issue..
This headbutt was nothing more than accidental. Both fighters were attempting to throw a punch from the outside at the time of the butt. Khan attempted to throw a straight right, and at the time of throwing it, had McClosky slightly out of range, meaning Kahn had to lean in slightly behind the punch to find the range for it.
At the same time, McClosky was attempting to throw a hook to the body. He too, at the time of throwing that punch, had to lean in to find the range for it. The result. Both men met at the middle leaning in...their heads colliding. It's just one of those things that happens.
Nothing was intentional, both played an equal part in having it happen. How is this so difficult to understand?
If Khan had attempted to throw a straight left instead of the right, he would have leaned and veered away from McClosky. But both threw a punch with momentum that had them leaning in such a way that they missed each others intended target and clashed heads instead. Not rocket science...just dumb circumstance.
read what i wrote retard......
You say that Khan is the most popular and then later say Haye is and i'm the retard? It's not close at all either. Haye>>>>>>>>>>>>>Khan.
I dont get the Amir Khan hate, I watched many interviews and he is not as cocky as people act.
He is very confident though and ive noticed people who have achieved nothing in life cant stand confident people
dont listen to him wazaa, he is in every khan thread bashing him on some way, at the end of the day i think khan is the most popular and well liked fighter in the UK Yes its probably because of the large asian-muslim backing, but alot of boxing fans support him aswell from all colours and backrounds, Haye is probably the most popular (but heavyweights always are) closely followed by amir.
Most popular? It's well known that Haye's ppv's outsell Khan's by massive margins.
Like David Haye? :haha:.
Like i said Haye says it with a cheeky smile and is honest in some things in what he says, havng a weak chin etc. When does Khan ever admit to having any flaws?
Do you ever watch politicians on TV? All of them say "And when I'm your senator/representative/president/whatever". It's meant to be a sign of confidence.
Politicians over here don't speak like that, must be a British thing but people don't like over confident people and prefer the humble honest guy.
There's a difference between saying i want to be the youngest world champ and i will.

People are still talking about this fight? I mean really, what is there to discuss? Whether or not you agree with the stoppage, two things were clear to any unbiased observer:
1.) Amir Khan was going to win that fight, most likely by KO.
2.) Paul McCloskey does not belong in the ring with a fighter of AK's caliber.
So I ask you, what is there to discuss? Six rounds in, I saw every bit of that fight that I needed to, and I don't really see how anyone could feel any different.
OMG he said "will" and not "want"!!
So arrogant. I hate him.
He says things like that in every interview, people like Hamed or Haye said things like that tongue in cheek with a cheeky smile. Khan says it in a deadly serious arrogant way. After getting humbled by Prescott he calmed down, now he's getting back into full flow. Brits don't like that kind of arrogance.
Let Khan do his thing 'till he can't.
With all these doubts if there has to be someone who believes in Khan it has to be Khan himself, we all know how hard it is with no self-concious, I respect the kid for doing what he can with the cards he has gotten.
OMG !! Did he realy say that?. He should have never set goals like becoming the youngest World Champion in British history !! OMG !! I f*cking hate him

I think racist brits are scared because a pakistani guy can steal their GF and beat them up
WTF? What GF did Khan steal, he still a ****ing Virgin. :lol1:
Well it is true that the only reason while Amir Khan gets any lead way, is because he at-lest isn't black, boy if he was black he would be destroyed, he would be hated like the Bertos and Mayweathers of the world.
However Khan is cocky and arrogant, and I don't even see why, he doesn't have a official title, and he's not even undefeated, I could at-lest understand a little bit why Berto was starting to get the big head, he had 2 things going for him.
Khan has always been an arrogant cunt, "I willl be the youngest world champion in British history", "i'll be a world champ before Lewis Hamilton". This is when the guy had about 5 pro fights. :nonono:
damn.. i just knew i'd have to go into even more detail for you..
No, khans head doesnt go straight towards mccloskeys head, it veers off at about a 15 to 30 degree angle *to the side* of his head.. just because it's going in the *general direction* of mccloskeys position doesn't mean it *pinpoints* his head..
did you just start watching boxing? no offense but what youre saying sounds like its coming from someone who didnt watch boxing for very long. "khans momentum was heading towards mccloskey so it must be him who caused the headbutt".. only someone who hasnt seen many headbutts before would say something along those lines.
it's mccloskeys head which moves towards khans head after khan misses with the jab and his head is slightly to the left of mccloskey (from the cameras perspective).. if you can't see that from the video, no amount of me explaining it will change your opinion because you already convinced yourself that your delusion represents reality.
Why did you bother then? I've given my opinion and you have given yours, let's leave it at that. No matter how much you state your opinion as fact it still doesn't become that.
And not that I should even have to respond to your patronising and condescending claims that I'm a boxing beginner but I've been watching, reading, writing about boxing and going to fights for the last 10 years. I was there on Saturday night too. If my opinion is so absurd to everyone else then maybe I have learnt something else....but that's what it's all about!
People will never like Khan and will always find an excuse to hate him. The main excuse being that he is Muslim or to a lesser extent British.
I don't think Khan is cocky or arrogant. He doesn't say anything 99% of other boxers don't say. But people will take anything he says, take it out of context, and use it against him. He will never win, so he might as well embrace an arrogant attitude and use it as a selling point.
The fact is, Khan is a young, confident, and talented man and people are jealous of his success. That's where 99% of the hate aimed at him stems from.
Boxing fans should celebrate its young stars who are willing to fight the best. Khan choosing to fight Maidana and Bradley in a space of 3 fights tells you all you need to know about his intentions.
I always root against Khan, but I understand my rooting against him is unjustified. It always happen, and eventually I become a fan of him.
I remember rooting against Bradley in the Cherry fight and today he is my second favorite fighter.
 Honestly, I realize I have absolutely no reason to hate Khan. He earned his stripes taking on Maidana, being rocked in the 10th, and not going down. He quelled doubts. I guess my rooting against him has to do with wanting Bradley to stay at #1.
But Khan is legit, I'll admit it. Maidana, McCloskey and now Bradley. If he doesn't pull off another Prescott showing, he'll be in the high end of the pound-for-pound rankings in no time.
