GBP won't put Ortiz in with Pacquiao. Ortiz said himself that he wants a big name fight and there is no one bigger than Pacquiao but Pacquiao would beat up Ortiz so bad that it would be back to square one.

Top Rank should start heavily promoting Tim, put him in with Zaveck on SHOW or CBS (if that's possible by the summer/fall, doubtful), Tim takes the IBF strap. Then Pacquiao-Bradley would have 2 belts, 3 if Manny gets the RING for Shane, on the line.

If there isn't a rematch next, I bet Berto is going to try to make that fight with Senchenko or Zavec again. HBO turned him down about 18 months ago to fight either guy, but then they tried to get either of them in there with Alvarez. I bet Berto is going to look at them real hard and try to convince HBO it's worth it to pay them to come over stateside.

If he were to fight Ortiz, he would be fighting a young, strong, title holder who just beat the #3 in the division. Which would be better than Pacqiauo's entire 2010 and first half of 2011, IMO. Can't see how a fight Vs Ortiz should be sh*tted on. Honestly, this is actually asking too much according to Bob Arum and Golden Boy. They aren't working together and I don't see that changing. Still, there are some lesser-known fighters that Ortiz, for example, could go after and really get himself going. If he manages to face and beat M'baye, Zaveck and Senchenko, then he's got all the major championships at the weight other than Manny Pacquiao's. This would really get him noticed, this would really get Golden Boy behind him once again and this would really raise his stock. If he managed to beat Marcos Maidana along the way as well, which is possible with the new attitude and the weight, he'd really make himself a star. With that, Bob Arum might not have a choice. The biggest fight at that weight besides a Mayweather clash would be an Ortiz showdown. That's about the best chance we have of unification, because Pacquiao ain't fighting these guys to round them up. Can't say I blame him.
