You know they were British fighters before the 90's right?
Yes, none of them were any good though.
lol is that you Oscar? you are one dumb motherfukker
I think he can also,Hes done pretty good stuff so far.
It would be a long road, it's unlikely but not impossible.
amir khan is da real deal..even wen he was a kid in amateurs he was untuchable he beat EVERYBODY and now as a pro hes jus sumfing else.he gets alot of criticism n hate cuz hes asian bt jus imagine he was white how much wud ppl luv him den??he brings excitement entrtainmnt evryfng boxing needs.duz any1 know any oda boxr hu throws combinations da way he duz.cum on admit it hes class n future pound for pound champ mark my words
If Khan can clean out his division, than clean out 147's Andre Berto, Mike Jones, Victor Ortiz, etc, and maybe even clean out 154, which is another deep division (and it would really be something if he could actually do it), than he certainly has a claim in my opinion (bar in mind I'm not an expert on british boxing history forgive me if I sound ridiculous)
How many other 'great' British fighters were knocked cold in 58 seconds...get a grip Oscar. This is an insult to Many great fighters, you should know better!
Maybe not in 58 seconds, but Lennox Lewis got knocked out by a lesser fighter, and isn't he considered the best british boxer of all time?
I am only basing that off of something I read about Joe Calzaghe when he admitted he was taking coke, he did it after he found out that he was voted second place to Lennox Lewis... I don't know if this was all time or just recently, or whether or not it was done by boxing historians or just fans, but thats what I remember
Khan can be the greatest British boxer ever??? De la Hoy must be dreaming. The greatest British boxer ever ok just don't give him the name Prescott or you'll scare him to death.
Lennox was the best UK fighter....and he claimed Jamaica and fought for Canada in the olympics. 2nd best was Joe Cal....but that isnt sayin much....his greatest accomplishment was barely beating a way past prime Bernard and Roy.(oh yea...going undefeated against a bunch of bums in his back yard no one outside the UK has heard of) 3rd maybe Hammed....but he got expsoed once he fought the best at his time(Marco)....the rest are pretty mediocre and overrated...Ben,Eubanks,Harold....all beat inferior comp at home....stepped outs side of the island a few times...and made huge deals over pretty regular stuff
And what about Jimmy Wilde, and Jackie Kid Berg. Not to mention Turpin who beat Sugar Ray Robinson. And I've already posted in about Ted "KId" Lewis who in the opinion of hundreds of experts was the greatest British fighter of the Twentieth Century, had 300 fights...
His acomplishments swamp anything that Lewis and Hamed have done. Turned pro at 15. was a World Champ before age 21. Fought Jack Britton for the World welterweight title 20 times TWENTY TIMES. Fought Benny Leonard and Maxie Rosenbloom, and many All time Greats and Hall of Famers. His record is a travelogue of the world's best and most renowned fighters over a 20 year period.
What sort of a guy, long past his best, would be fighting the World Lightheavyweight Champ, for the EBU HEAVYWEIGHT title, weighing in at only 150 lbs..........
Only a ONE OF A KIND GUY.

Actually the Greatest British Fighter of the Twentieth was once KO'd in the first Rd..........
Was hit on a break at the end of rd.1 for the EBU Heavyweight title weighing at about 155, giving away about 25 lbs. etc.
This was against Georges Carpentier the Light heavyweight World Champion who fought Jack Dempsey for the Heavyweight Crown. And he was only a welterweight.
His name was Ted "Kid" Lewis, voted by press and boxing experts, as the greatest British Boxer of the Twentieth Century. He fought everybody, including Benny Leonard, and had about 300 fights.
The pre fight press conference was just a bad as the post fight conference, Khan and his team are a load of clowns, sham on ricky Hatton and de la hoya, Hatton in the pre press con, Oscar in the post press con, it was nauseating watching these two praising Khan, Why do they have to keep trying to sell Khan to the British fans?
The only decent british fighters are Lewis and Hamed. Khan has a good shot at being the greatest one ever.
You know they were British fighters before the 90's right?
The Top 20 British Boxers of All-Time
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/661141-the-top-20-british-boxers-of-all-time
Is Jimmy Wilde on that list? Or did I miss him?
I would put Lewis>Calzaghe.
And, Hamed>McGuigan.
Wilde should be #1, if Fitzsimmons doesn't count as British.
khan will lose the majority of the british public if he carries on the way he is going. hatton was a success because he was humble. khans team are arrogant and it rubs off on him.
when noone in the UK gives a toss about him he and oscar won't be able to trade off his 'britishness'.
sadly lewis was the same...he was jamaican until it came to fightcamp and then all of a sudden he was london born again.
being british sells tickets and ppvs. right now I'd say that mccloskey is more popular with true fight fans in britain than khan.
yeah i agree, he could be but, AND I DO MEAN BUT, HE ISNT,WASNT,WONT BE OR WILL BE....EVER.
yes he is quick and yes he proved he has something of a chin and thats it.
naseem hamed was quick and had a chin regardless of what the yanks say he beat everything they had and even came off the floor to do it (a number of times) but, he was a pure cash register, entertainer and raw punch power that turned many of his fights around and out in one shot.
he was as bigger draw here in the uk as pacman is in the phillipines.
then we have, nigel benn who went to yanksville and beat all their **** that were brave enough and toney and jones didnt want it with him, watson or eubank.
turpin,lewis,honeygan,buchanan,calzaghe etc
however, its just rediculous to even imagine at this stage in the career of this terrorist that he "is" this or that, oscar ur a cunt.
does anybody remember what happened to khan in his very early unearned first ppv event? yeah, exactly. 54 seconds and its nunights. cunt.
it just goes to show the high regard in which us brits are held by the yanks!
oscar, ya mums a crackwhore and stinks of piss and me and my friends want ur wife as the main event in one of our bukkake parties.
