seriously???how can anyone be mad bout that fight last night???damn fighters lose...doesnt make you a hype job..that fight deserves a rematch and cant see how anyone could be mad bout that
Berto is the perfect example of a hypejob. He was advertised as the next big thing, got paid huge money to fight nobody and people kept saying once he stepped up, he would lose
He came into this fight a 4.5-1 favorite because he was crazy hyped
I hate the racists pricks at this site, Berto fought a war even with his legs gone, if he was Mexican you'd be talking about his huge heart.........racists bastards

berto was being branded a hypejob even before losing to ortiz and honestly speaking, im with many people who thinks that berto is fraud. i dont think people are upset about last nights fight, if anything fans are happy and thankful to ortiz for finally exposing that fraud
I think some of these berto haters are forgetting that berto was closer to finishing the fight than ortiz was. If he didnt get knocked down himself in RD6 he probably would have finished ortiz off, but he made a typical rookie mistake and got caught trying to finish somebody with bombs.
Funny how you said Berto made a rookie mistake, dude is 27 and has held that belt of his for how many yrs??He is far from a rookie..Had he been testing himself over these yrs he would have been more prepared for that..

Boxingscene is a love hate relationship with me. One of the reasons i like coming here is you get to discuss boxing from all weight classes and fighters, not just mainstream fighters. The bad, a lot of posters are just straight up negative with everything. Instead of being happy they got a good fight, they make it a priority to downgrade a fighter.
And another thing...is Berto really a hype job? he lost to a VERY good fighter with a lot of talent and power. Plus why was hyping Berto to become some atg fighter? to be a hypejob, dont you have to have a lot of hype. Pretty much everyone was on the same page about him. He's athletic, has some talent and has power. But no one was making him out to be unbeatable.
This...............
No, he's a hypejob because after Collazo arguably beat him he fought horrendous competition and was built up by HBO and Haymon to the point people thought he was far better than he is. When he stepped back up in competition Victor Ortiz beat the sh** out of him. So thank you Victor. Berto has to earn that back now.
Im not sure how berto was a hype job, when he was hated in these forums. (not a berto fan here)
When I call him a hypejob or anyone a hypejob, I'm speaking in terms of what HBO and boxing commentators have portrayed these guys to be, what they have sold them as. They were hyped as superstars, paid as superstars (Berto especially) and they faltered when thoroughly tested...every last one of them did.
That's boxing fans for you, Great fight by Ortiz who proved and answer every question of him in one fight. Shame though that idiotic posters are taking away his credit just to suit their own retarded idea.
Oh and I forgot didn't Lopez lose by stoppage on the same night, wouldn't that constitute as being "exposed"? well like I said theres a bias.... thats why I can't take the information of many posters here seriously. I've hardly read anything about him being "exposed"
I believe JML has fought better opposition then Berto which is why he is consider to be a hype job and JML is not viewed in the same light..JML at least has a legend on his resume(R.Marquez)name one top 5 WW(not even a legend)he has fought??Name someone of merit..I believe you like Berto and just don't like people saying the truth about him..But it's okay he has a chance to prove many wrong by fighting at a top level..

Larry you forgot +1, other than the 6 round Berto didnt do much shiet and just waited for a one punch KO that he couldnt find
The ref also helped him loads. In fact, it got so bad that most people were expecting a robbery on the cards.
For all that though, I think Berto is a better fighter than what he showed, imo he was surprised by the ferocity of Ortiz's challenge and was hurt fairly early on. He'll be better prepared for his next opponent.

Exactly. Both guys deserve repect. Ortiz really raised his game imo, and Berto did not go out without a fight, he showed alot of heart. Hope there is a rematch someday cause it was a great fight.
115-111,114-112 doesnt=dominated..and nothing bout last night shouldve pissed off any boxing fan..great fight
