A good fight with a few great spots; the first two rounds hinted at a possible war, I was pretty excited and I was already screaming out Fight of the Year; but as the fight ran its course, it became evident it was gonna be a good fight, but nothing truly worthy of getting carried away; barring the 1st, 2nd and 6th rounds, the majority of the fight was Berto clinching, both fighters lunging in, trying to take each other out and missing, and was truly held back from being what it couldve been by a horrible referee; Lord, it seems like the best fights on paper get plagued by terrible officials, i'll never understand that; with that said, I saw a few posts; Fight of the Decade? Definitely not; Fight of the Year? Not that either; Rios vs Acosta was better, Lee vs McEwan was more fulfilling; a good win for Victor, a good lesson for Berto, but not what it was made out to be
dunno what happend to berto dude seemed off but it is wat it is
He kept saying something was wrong but wouldn't elaborate. He got caught in the first round and didn't really know how to handle it.
the excessive clinching should have been cause for a point deduction...it really stalled some of the exchanges...Berto was gassed (as usual) and that tactic should have been penalized
Couldnt have said it any better bro, a deduction for Ortiz, but none for Berto, incredible
Yeah, the first half was great, but Berto ruined any chance of it being fight of the year by pretty much giving it up in the second half. Between Maidana/Morales and Berto/Ortiz though, Berto/Ortiz was a better fight. Rios and Acosta probably don't have big enough names for anyone to make it fight of the year.
