Did I not tell so many of you Berto was a hype Job??What will be the things Bertos fans say to why he lost I can't wait..Now just think if he fought Mosley..:nono:
berto looked promising coming up, i admit i had high hopes for the dude... but after seeing him against collazo, that enthusiasm quickly ended. LOL. collazo is the TRUTH.
after that, with the ****iness and inflated paydays, it was hard to even stomach berto....
devon alexander was another one i had high hopes for...
I'm just going to name younger guys..
Bradley(two time unified champ)
Froch is not(best resume at SMW)
Khan(has fought up to his talent level and won)
Alexander(unified the belts)
JML(he has R.Marquez on his resume which is impressive)
Maidana(although limit his resume is good)
Just a few off the top of my head,do you not agree??Even Mratinez and Pwilly on their come up were hype but they also fought top fighters in their div..No??
You were right on Berto, but by my count you still have a losing record in this thread.
Had to bump this thread man..Berto is one of the most disappointing fighters in recent memory..
I think its clear that he wont be who he was before the PED's. I also think its clear he was a good fighter but not great. Yes he was given preferential treatment by HBO because he has a marketable story (coming frm Haiti).
Time to start thinking about another career IMO.

That he is Rome my man. I haven't seen the fight yet, its set to record in a couple of days, tomorrow I think. But I doubt that I'll change my stance once I see the carnage that unfolded down here in SA.
You're right about me not following the thread. It was the headline I was responding to. I just object to terms like "hypejob" and "exposed" and "hater" and the like that are thrown around so freely and as a consequence greatly detract from the conversation on this board.
I still think "hypejob" is too strong a condemnation and hyperbole besides, but I retract my trolling accusation. Cool?
Cool I figured it must have been a misunderstanding anyway..
This postlets me know you are a troll who has not even been reading the threads and respones in it..It has nothing to do with Berto losing,I have been calling a hype job since Collazo..It has everything to do with his level of comp,Berto was a belt holder and has no win on his resume(outside of Collazo)of merit..You find this to be acceptable??

No. By only using 3 words, I'm being efficient in expressing contempt for a stupid idea as well as pointing out something that may or may not be obvious.
But you challenge that so let me elaborate:
That you should declare a boxer a "hypejob" after suffering his first and only loss in such a great fight to another very good fighter is stupid.
But you don't seem to be stupid so there must be a reason for you to post something so stupid.
You must have reasons for trashing this fighter that has nothing to do with his boxing.
That's all the further I need to take this line of reasoning to deduce that
you
are
trolling.

No your trollin by saying three words and adding nothing of merit to the conversation..:fu2:

Think about what fighter today, to fighter isnt hyped though?

I just want everyone to know I'm not calling Berto a hype job because he lost or because the kids not talented(no no)..I'm calling him a hype job because he was being hype to be a Pac or Mayweather opponent with out fighting top level comp..You can't/or should not get big money fights without proving ya self imo,and his run of fighting Jr WW or non live bodys mean while you are a belt holder was lame imo..He had that belt for 3 yrs and really does not have a notable win on his resume..He never unified the belts that's not deserving of a shot at Pac or Mayweather imo..Just being young is not enough imo..
I also don't believe Ortiz deserves a shot,he had a great fight but he has unfinish bizzness imo with Maidana..I would not mind him fighting a Clottey or a rematch with Berto..Ortiz can unify or fight a Mike Jones..I just don't believe one fight(that was good granted)gives you a shot at the big money makers..We need to hold these fighters to the standerd of old ya have to earn ya shot..Berto was not willing to do this which is why imo he is a hype job..Let's see what happens with Ortiz...
i think you're right he will bounce back
i think he felt insulted that ortiz was chosen as his opponent and despite the fact he was the favourite to retain his belt he believed he was above ortiz and he shouldn't be sharing the same ring as him but he was so wrong
props to ortiz i know that performance shut alot of haters up (especially on here)
great fight i think we know a little more about each fighter after that epic battle
LMFAO Epic battle??You talk as if both fighters was standing in the middle of the ring going back and forth..It was a good exciting fight(I like Rios Acosta better then this fight)but it was a white wash for Ortiz..I gave Berto maybe three rds..Props to Ortiz he showed mega balls but laying on the ropes holding and trying to survive..That don't sound epic to me..
If he really felt Vic did/should not be in the same ring why not change the opponent??Why not fight Cintron after he pulled his skirt up??Dude if he took the fight(Berto has to a prove the fight and sign the contract)he wanted to fight Ortiz..Once again he thought he would be easy pickings and was shock to see he was'int..
Berto aint no hypejob, the guy's a good fighter just can not deal with Southpaws and there are many good fighters who cant deal with Southpaws.Berto will bounce back.
Most of his last few fights were against southpaws..How could he not be use to them if that's what he fought in I believe four of his recent fights??I think he is not use to high level opponents..Because every time he up his level he was made to look average..That's why he waited so long(after Collazo)to fight a decent fighter again..And be clear only reason Ortiz got a shot is because he was perceived as a easy picking..We'll see how he comes back and against who..
He wasn't over hyped. Ortiz was doubted, thats why most thought Berto would win. Some of you should really think before posting and quite making decisions based on your emotions.
LMAO you should read before posting thus not making ya self sound stupid..Berto was hype by HBO and his handlers and his supporter none the less as something more then what he was..Hence Hype Job...
