not really, this is NSB where one fighter goes from a bum tomato can to #1 PFP ATG to tomato can again all within a few seconds.
Khan was cruising to victory. Khan really got caught by Maidana and won. McCloskey wasn't going to catch Khan with the power Maidana had. McCloskey has a squirrelly defense and was not easy to hit cleanly(as people who had seen McCloskey before had stated going into this fight).
I'm not a Khan fan but this fight wasn't some sort of proof he's a bum, joke, or not one of the best right now. Khan didn't lose a single round. I still think, and thought before this fight, Khan loses to Bradley.
Settle the fuck down people.
I have been saying this before and right after the maidana fight, Amir fights like an amateur. He got speed in those hands but that is all he has at the moment. The reason why he is winning fights is because of those unbelievably quick hands.
He doesn't fight smart. He can't take advantage of openings provided by flaws on McCloskey style. Amir hasn't been impressive in his last two fights. It will be safe for me to say that if matched up against smart boxers who are adept in handling speedsters, Amir will get schooled.
he should be showing more polish ... especially considering he has world renowned trainer freddie roach

squirrelly defense ... maybe i gotta watch it again cause for most the fight paul's head looked pretty straight up and his hands were down.
this was suppose to be a showcase and khan didnt impress 2nite. on top of that the morales took shine off the maidana win. u could see khan was fighting with too much adrenaline and too much with the crowd early but that doesnt change the fact that he looked sloppy against a guy no where near his class. ive had to somewhat adjust my view of him, theres nothing wrong with stating it. it dont make the guy any less world class. if anything this makes khan v bradley more interesting, cause if this is khan as a finished product he def still has some gaping holes in his game.
why do british refs let enzo maccarineli get killed time and time again and then they stop fights like this?
lmaooooooo yea they do let Enzo get killed almost on purpose
ref wasn't British and it was the doc who stopped the fight
well the doctor was british and he stopped it so that kinda proves my point doesn't it? A-list british fighters are super protected and don't have equal standards compared to their opponents.
why do british refs let enzo maccarineli get killed time and time again and then they stop fights like this?
Because they hate him (Enzo), the same way the Japanese hate Sakuraba.

khan has a lot of potential, he is a decent boxer you dont become world champion by not being able to box to a degree. He does have a lot of flaws but he's steadily improving over time. I think the speed he does posses is difficult to deal with and some of his punches do look amateurish, but at the speed he throws it does pose problems and the intial speed is difficult to deal with for most opponents. If khan sits on his punches and times it better he could be lethal with that sort of speed, the counter oppurtunites with that sort of speed is ridiculous
I agree with you there but a few more fights to work out/reduce some of the flaws would be best as he is only 24.
i just don't see it man...bradley isn't a great fighter either, plus doesn't have power or faster hands than khan. i hate khan, and i'm not a fan of bradley, but i don't see bradley beating khan any which way...i've seen bradley's last 4 fights and the one with witter, and i've seen khan's last 6 fights...my predicition is khan whoops him and takes a UD...can possibly even stop him if he is in top shape..
Do you think McCloskey has a better D/head & body movement/counterpunch ability than Bradley? Wouldn't Bradley be harder to hit? And Bradley has faster footwork than McCloskey. Also Bradley doesn't drop one hand like McCloskey. Bradley's style is like Spain in the World Cup. Just beat you by enough 1-0 and boring as hell. I am using this an analogy and am NOT saying Bradley is to the level of a "Spain". Style makes fight and I don't think Khan would do well against Bradley's style.
Give Paul some credit. He landed some shots on Amir (the biggest of which was the right hook), and was more elusive and tricky than I think Khan or Roach was expecting. Again, he still lost every round in my eyes though. He didn't seem close to waning, and I thought his chances got better the longer the fight went. Khan had expended plenty of energy early on, and I would've been interested in what Paul would've done with a slower, slightly fatigued Amir. You can assume, but that doesn't mean anything at the end of the day.
I actually have a lot of respect for McCloskey, I'd go so far to say he would beat a few of the other top 140 pound guys. But Khan was too fast for the guy, McCloskey's style made Khan look bad, but Khan clearly had more class and was thus winning every round, and even dazed McClosket slightly before the headbut. Again though I only saw one decent punch landed by Paul.
Mccloskey landed ONE decent punch in the whole fight, and khan had in a bit of trouble in the 6th, so Mccloskey claims that they were going to knock him out late were the only thing they could say. I could say that I was going to jump in the ring and spear Khan to ground and then spark him the **** out, doesnt mean it was going to happen.
We can only go by what we saw, and we say Khan win every round and have mccloskey in trouble in the 6th.

I hate the assumption that because Khan won all the rounds until the stoppage, that he was going to win the fight. People get tired, get caught, get cut (not by accidental clash of heads), and all kinds of sh*t. I've seen enough boxing to understand why championship fights are 12 rounds. McCloskey was landing some decent shots, and Khan looked pretty sloppy tonight. Horrible stoppage.

A female squirrel's menstrual cycle would bleed more. This stoppage is BS. And Khan is not a good boxer. I know he was winning in all round but in very non-impressive fashion. Bradley will get in and outpoint him.

Khan is cool with me, but the peopel around him are corrupt homos.
now if Khan was cut, tha fight wouldnt be stopped now.
It would have been stopped and he still would have won, and people would have overreacted even worse.
I agree the stoppage was bullshit. A cut needs to be extremely severe for it to be stopped in my eyes. That happens way too often. Cuts look worse than someones brains getting beat in so doctors overreact. They say nothing when a guy is getting his brain pushed up against the side of his skull, defenseless, and eyes glazed but they go crazy when a little blood drips into his eyes.
I hate this sometimes.

well khan fancies himself @ the floyd, pacquiao, martinez, donaire level.
now come on 140 lb. floyd, pac kill McKloskey not on some bullsh1t stoppage either-- so maybe khan shud just STFU just a bit. just a bit?
I'm not a Khan fan. He's not as good as he thinks. His boxing timing is poor as the Maidana fight proved. Anyone with OK boxing ability and more than a turtle's worth of speed, but decent power gives Khan problems.
He's still one of the best at 140 but PFP he's not up there with Floyd, Pac, Sergio, or Donaire and I think most unbiased fans agree.
It's not Khan's fault the stoppage was bullshit so don't hold him accountable.
