After seeing what a faded Morales did against Maidana. It is possible that Marquez can do the same against Pac and even win. I know most would disagree but no one saw the Morales vs Maidana fight play out the way it did. I think Marquez would lose a close and hard fought fight against Pac, but i disagree with the notion of Marques getting brutally stopped or koed in like three rounds. What u guys think if the fight happens.
What does Morales fighting well against Maidana have to do with a lightweight JMM fighting competitively at welterweight against Pacquiao?
And Pacquiao WOULD make sure it would be at ww.
I was asking the same question to my self
No way no how Marquez would beat Manny above 135, that's at 140-147. Two reasons, he's been in more than 2 wars since they fought last time. 2 barn burners with Diaz and Kats. He's also getting older and his ideal weight is 135. He just doesn't hit hard enough at 140-147 in my opinion. I do want to see him in there against Judah who seems to be the gatekeeper "measuring stick" so to speak. I think that would be a good fight. He should stay far away from Pac though.
you can't compare morales/maidana to pac/jmm III... styles make fights,
Sorry, that you came to the wrong conclusion i was not comparing Morales vs Maidana to how the third Pac vs Marquez bout would go. I simply wanted people to see that there is more to boxing. Everyone assumed that morales would get sparked in less than four, giving that maidana might been overated. Now everyone is saying that Marquez would get sparked by Pac at welter in a few rounds. The only reason Pac has looked good is because he has faced an array of inferior opposition in skill and counter punching ability. They have made him looked good, Cotto ran most of the time, Diaz, Margarito came forward and clotey did not do sh!t. I don't know why people say that Pac has improved his boxing skills, all he did was devolope the right hand and nothing else. Going in and out of range it is not a skill Pac is speed is what really carries him. It is the same Pac; Marquez fought in 2008 and IMO Pac will still have trouble with Marquez.
as good as jmm is right now its more just a testament to how great he WAS. i love jmm style/heart/intellect but pac at this point would destroy him inside of 9 rounds IMO. jmm would try to back up and up and up to try to get a measure on manny but pac (being much more well-rounded now) would just cutoff the ring and force the fight. being strong and faster (and again, better now) he would TKO jmm. ref stoppage.

I cant believe that the popular vote is that Pac crushes Marquez. It doesnt matter what weight the fight is at Marquez's style will give Pac fits. Its not one win Pac has had since Marquez that says anything will change in a third fight. Yall please wake up and realize the style of fighter Pac has been beating. No discrediting just a different style.
We know Marquez has the style to trouble Pac but still beat him. It is not because JMM skills are inferior but the fact his superior skills brought the 2 fights so close that could go either way. JMM should won both fights but you should know why it didn't happen. Imagine if 126 & 130 Pac could knockdown JMM several times, think about this 147 version of Pac. Pac after tested those power shot from the likes of Cotto, Clottey, Marg and just shaked it off. Now Pac all has to do to win is just walk through JMM counterpunches to land his own and double those power who knocked down JMM at 126 & 130. You can visualize the result now.
It'd be similar to what we saw in the Morales v Maidana bout. Juanma's ring generalship would keep him in the game and probably keep the judges on edge with some close middle rounds....but with the muscle development (especially the calves) and conditioning Manny now has he would wear Marquez out. Marquez being the Mexican he is would go out on all heart, and Nacho would probably have to stop the fight.
Wish this fight would haven happened closer to the 2nd fight.
He has fought at welterweight before and he only looked bad because it was Mayweather who made him look bad. Pac struggles against counter punchers and has not fought decent one since Marquez. Even if the fight is at welter it will be more compitative than the come forward fighters he has fought recently.
Man it has nothing to do with skills or counterpunching. Pac should lost both fights if not because of JMM weakness against Pac. Guess what it is....he can't take Pac clean punches if lands on his chin at lower weight classes. Now imagine this prime Pac who added so much in his skills and double that power Pac has now in both hands plus after he tested those power shots from bigger opponents like nothing. All Pac has to do now is walk through JMM punches and land his big one. It spells a disaster for me ala Hatton ko.
