Bute has already fought good enough comp where if he loses its just a loss he is way past the point where he can be "exposed", he is a genuine world class fighter.
Who would you consider "good enough" opposition? Andrade who had already gotten destroyed by Kessler?
Or Miranda who had already gotten beat by Arthur Abraham and Ward?
Nobody said anything like that before the fight. Rubio was there to lose.
Also, he did not fight a terrific fight. He fought like an idiot, and got beat by a journeyman.
As soon as I saw the articles about Lemieux-Martinez talk had a flashback to the talk of a Andy Lee-Pavlik title bout days before the Vera fight. Similar situation. And yes he did fight a great fight as he was dominating untill the last two rounds when he got rocked. Rubio was sent there to lose but we all knew well before this fight that Rubio is a live dog.

exactly ....
There is no substitute for experience, ever, ever, ever, especially in a boxing ring.
Rubio ain't no Camacho Jr. either.
Now we'll see what Lemieux is really made of, needs to round out his game and understand that you can throw power shots all night, not everybody folds so easily.
Troll thread, can't believe that people are even arguing this.
Pascal and Bute both have beaten many 'Rubio's' over their careers.
Lemieux having more upside then Bute...GTFO
The kid is 22 and just fought one of the most savy veterans around his weight. AND fought terrific. How is that exposed?

linares, jacobs, and lee were all prospects that have gotten knocked out .i think lemieux falls into that category more than an over hyped canadian like pascal

Every fighter who loses once is a bum who should never fight again right? Maybe you should get off your computer and try fighting 2 rounds and see how you feel.
Also Pascal was not exposed, he is lineal light heavyweight champ for crying out loud. Bhop is a tough night for ANY 175 regardless of his age.
I wouldn't call it exposed in Lemieux's case, I would just call it inexperienced.....
I thought he should've adjusted when he saw that his bombs weren't rocking rubio, he should re-assessed and gone to a more technical boxing strategy to go along with his power..... IE Jab- 1-2 combo etc....
i thought myself it was blatantly obvious even before the rubio and bhop fights that bute was the class of the current crop of top canadian fighters ...
Dawson outclassed him?
What fight were you watching?
you could argue that Dawson is the more skilled fighter but how the hell did he outclassed him? His own fault for lacking that killer instinct
I would bet on Dawson beating Pascal in a rematch.
I don't think Bute is top 10 P4P. He's at best 3rd at SMW. I don't think he beats Ward or Froch for sure, and he'd struggle with Johnson, Dirrell, and Kessler. He got KO'd by Andrade who I think is overrated by a ton of boxing fans.
Titlist=Nothing to me. JCC Jr is a titlist, so what? Dawson and Hopkins both clearly outclassed Pascal, Dawson just didn't let his hands go, and Pascal got a hometown decision over BHop. Pascal continues to not impress me at all.
You didn't actually answer the questions. All you did was use your opinion to discredit and dismiss.
I don't see Bute as top 10 P4P either, but the majority of the boxing world would agree that he's at least top 20 P4P, if not top 10.
I rate titlists pretty low too (titlist=means titleholder is at least top 20 in the division), so I'm not sure what your point is. I'm one of the biggest Dawson supporters here, but I'm not going to sit here and discredit or dismiss Pascal.
The questions were do you believe that Lemieux will match or exceed what But and Pascal accomplished. Not trying to embarrass you or call you out, just putting my 2 in that I don't see it as of now (never really had much of an opinion on Lemieux before the loss to Rubio, so no revisionism here) and asking you whether you think he will.

He needs to stop loading up on every punch.
Its really hard to fight like that.
Second he should try to get down to 154.
I don't know if his stamina just sucks or if he was trying to load up on every single punch, but I think it's obvious he needs to get a new trainer to teach him how to pace himself better or work on his conditing. The problems with Lemiuex is nothing that can't be fixed. I think he'll be fine.
I don't know if he can fight at 154. I know he started off his career at that weight, but he hasn't fought there in 3 years.
