1:48 and on.
This is before his fight with Woods in 2002 I believe.
He goes over:
1. How to get a fight with him in his prime: Become the number 1 contender for his title (Tarver did this and got a fight....other fighters did not).
2. How Bernard avoided him. I like Hopkins but always felt like he knew to wait around till Jones got too old and shot. Hopkins in the Jones 2 fight was an embarrasment to his own legacy by taking that fight and the antics during that fight.
Roy pretty much lays it out here and it a lot of it makes sense.
ironically, calzaghe jones was not only a crap fight to begin with, it was WAY more of a snoozefest than the hopkins fight.
at least in the hopkins fight there was a competition happening, not a sparring match that was jones vs calzaghe............
face it, calzaghe was afraid of a rematch, it was too close for comfort........ besides the coke habit was catching up to him..........
Joe vs. Jones was a joke. you'd have to be a mentally deficient retard to even try to justify thiis fight.
Of course most Joe fans do. LOL
Hopkins doesn't get bums on seats.
Y'all must have forgot.
Roy Jones Jr was coming off a win against Felix Trinidad and the styles of Calzaghe and Roy promised to be better than a second snoozefest with Hopkins and Calzaghe.

I was there at MSG for the Jones-Calzaghe fight and it was nice and empty. I repeat, HBO took a loss so fiscally, everything you're saying is irrelevant.
Please, he would've made the same amount to fight Hopkins. HBO took a big loss with that fight. He fought a guy who he said was shot. And avoided the Hopkins rematch. Then retired. Nothing else to it.
HBO didnt want the rematch.
It was Jones or Pavlik.
Joe had one fight left in him and picked Roy.
He got on better with Roy and made millions.
Joe had lost interest in boxing.
I think Mayweather is the same right now. No interest in boxing just the money. Lost the passion.

Hopkin wanted to fight Byron Mitchell
Then he saw what Joe did to him and soiled himself.
Started calling out Mayorga. :lol1:
do you specialize in delusions? this is entertaining stuff.
Very true. he went life or death with ATG Byron Mitchell

i like calzaghe, but hop and roy would rape him in their primes, he was far too open for counter punchers
nah, he had some real brawls, that bhop fight doesn't measure up
No one's talking about "real brawls" (whatever the f*ck that means). I'm talking about a fight that most felt could've gone either way and warranted a rematch.
Whatever, that's just BS excuses. That was the toughest fight of his career and he ran from it and chose to fight a Jones he personally said was shot. End of story.

Its funny because this thread was about Roy and Bernard.
And my favorite stalker bipolar nerd Diggler showed up and made it about Joe. Then the Joe fans show up.
But yes, it's all the Hopkins fans that are angry.
Clearly. That's why I made a thread pointing out the Bernard was ducking Roy the whole time.
There are a lot of Hopkins fans are unwilling to accept and move on.
It is obsession. Very unhealthy.
Calzaghe Hopkins II
ut Calzaghe wrote in his South Wales Argus column: "Hopkins has said we have unfinished business and that I should give him a rematch.
"Golden Boy promoter Richard Schaefer says that talks are ongoing in regard to this fight happening.
"I have beaten Bernard Hopkins once, it wasn't a great fight and styles make fights and he came to hold and to spoil, rather than to execute as his nickname suggests."
I thought the fight was a stinker. I think Calzaghe thought Hopkins was a dick after seeing Bernard make racist comments, faking injury and time wasting/

It did makes a lot of sense. I havent heard that point of view before, I just thought he was ducking Bernard all that time.
you do realize this is the internet right? No one is talking to anyone.
I was adding a point to my first post without using the edit button.
Have you been taking your bipolar meds today? Please continue to take them as stopping can have harmful side effects like assuming the internet is real life.
man you aint got no job you broke sat at your parents computer with no shoe on
