Ive heard Lopez is talking about it. Havent heard anything about Gamboa, though.
Moving up to 130 to get away from Gamboa and Mikey is a smart move for Lopez. Though for legacy sake he really needs to fight Gamboa before he goes anywhere.
we lopez said that he is moving to 130 after the marquez fight this summer and that the gamboa fight would happen in june 2012 at 130 so my guess is that gamboa will also move to 130 after his august fight because he doesnt want his first fight at 130 to be the lopez fight. if what lopez says its true then after the marquez fight he would have one more fight and then gamboa and as far as gamboa goes he would do the same after his august fight
the only issue with that is lopez and gamboa will move to 130 very soon

Right now Arum has the FW division on lock with his dynamic duo of Gamboa and Lopez. I think he sees the potential Mikey has to be added to that formula. The Boricua, the Cubano, the Chicano. It makes good business sense. He probably wont let them fight each other for another couple of years, though.
I think this is a good fight for young Mikey, though Im sure he grabs another KO win.

I think this more or less proves the conspiracy theory that Gamboa was forced or told to vacate that title by Top Rank.

Billy Dib fcking sucks, no one can tell me different and this is a pretty easy fight for Garcia to become champion without having to fight the real champions. No disrespect to Garcia, I like him as a fighter, just another slimy move by Top Rank.
is a shame, but robert garcia didnt have big enough cojones to put his brother in there with the lion, oh well can you blame him? not at all just dont fight for the title and act like you are the champ we all know who the real champ is a la sergio martinez
Dib vs Garcia in the works
Below is excerpt from fight news .com
Australian IBF#4 ranked featherweight Billy “The Kid” Dib (31-1, 19KO’s) confirmed to ********* today that he is in negotiations to take on IBF#1 ranked Mikey Garcia for the vacant IBF 126 pound title in July in the USA or Australia. He stated, “We are close to agreeing the finer details such as date, location and venue but we are both on the same piece of paper in that we are committed to fight each other for the IBF featherweight title in our next fight. Both our next fights will be see us in the opposite corner and this is a chance for me to prove I am one of the best featherweights in world boxing. Its been a new Billy Dib since my loss to Luevano for the WBO title and I am unbeaten in my last ten fights under the guidance of Billy Hussein. This fight could take place in the US but we are trying everything to bring the fight to Australia. We have had some great champions in Australia in recent years and there is now an opportunity for me to take up the mantle left by such greats as Jeff Fenech, Kostya Tszyu, Michael Katsidis, Danny Green and Anthony Mundine. It is now a chance for me to push Australian boxing to the next level – we are trying very hard financially to bring Garcia to Australia for the IBF title.” The IBF title at 126 pounds was declared vacant recently when Yuriorkis Gamboa was stripped of the title when he failed to make a mandatory re-weigh in for his recent fight with Jorge Solis on March 26th in Atlantic City.
