Are you kidding me using this logic? If I may interject....that is a horrible example sir. Clottey was in his TURTLE SHELL DEFENSE, how can you hit the guy?
Then going further to conclude that PACQUIAO HAS HORRIBLE ACCURACY.
Wow. Pick someone who actually "fought" Manny, not Clottey. hehehehe
:lol1: the guy could have used
Margarito:
Pacquiao landed 474 of 1,069 punches for a ridiculous 44 percent connect percentage. That total was #8 all time in title fights in CompuBox’s 25 yr. history
Of those blows, he landed 411 of 713 power shots for a 58 percent connect percentage. That’s an average of 34 landed per round which is 21 more than the weight class average. Pacquiao landed 43 of 62 power shots (69%) in round four; 40 of 60 (67%) in round five; 57 of 89 (64%) in the tenth and 51 of 75 (68%) in eleven before pulling off the gas pedal in round twelve.

or Cotto: where Pacquiao landed 43% of his total punches and 49% of his power punches..
or even Hatton: where Pacquiao landed 57% of his total punches and 62% of his power punches..
thank you sir!
Mosley admit in his last fight that he can no longer deal with guys who run a lot. Floyd has godly defense and elected to stand right in front of Mosley. manny's defense isn't so great, so he'll be moving much more than Floyd did. manny being manny will brawl at some point and there lies Sugar's chances.
WTF Floyd was in his face all night .
Shane was mentally owned by Floyd and was terrible against Mora ,, he has slipped further than Pre Floyd no doubt .
Styles do make fights and Floyds style is the toughest to defeat
Once he hits the 35 year old mark, I don't think this statement is gonna hold that well.
There's really not much else to add after the bold. Punches landed is punches landed. They still hurt. Punches missed and punches NOT thrown....don't hurt. It's not the end all. I mean, it also depends on how effective each punch is, that doesn't change the fact that there will be more connects in this fight.
Punches miss do hurt especially when you hitting thing air.
This is a interesting question but the funny thing is even though its a year later and Shanehas been beaten he does have a better chance vs Pac than he ever did against Mauwrather because Pac is not as good as Mayweather. Pac is all physical, Mayweather is all mental and Shane has always struggled with thinking/tactical fighters. He'll have a much better chance in a speed and power contest.

Pacquiao certainly throws more punches than Floyd and that's why he lands more than Floyd on common opponents. But as far as connecting goes, Mayweather is the far superior accurate boxer of the 2.
Landing 44% on a guy like Shane Mosley, is not an easy task. 30% of your punches landed is already above average. 208 of 477, that was target practice for Mayweather.
Pacquiao threw 1,200+ punches on Joshua Clottey and only landed 20%, on a guy who literally stands right in front of you. Mayweather landed on Mosley almost the amount Pacquiao landed on Clottey, but Pacquiao needed 754 more punches to do it. That is horrible aim. While Clottey landed 27% of his punches on Pacquiao, 108 of 399. Pacquiao not only has horrible accuracy, he's very easy to hit. But lucky for him, he caught Mosley at the tail end of his career.

You said Pacquiao connects more punches than Floyd, he clearly doesn't. Connect in boxing is about accuracy. You have to be more clear and say Pacquiao lands more because he throws more, slightly at that.
There is not a big disparity on punches landed on common opponents anyways, except for Marquez. Mayweather landed 59%, 290 punches out 400+ thrown, while Pacquiao threw 600+ and only landed 150+. Every other common opponent they landed just about the same while Mayweather throws way less to get there.

I small percentage higher maybe? I think Shane will connect more against Manny. So there is still a big possibility that Sugar can devastate Pac with a haymaker...
BUT
...I also think Manny will connect more against Shane than Floyd did. Shane has a higher chance of being stopped by Manny.

Yes because Manny is easier to find in the ring compared to Floyd, but still saying that though Shane will still take alot more punishment than he did against Mayweather.
