Looks like Manny Pacs defamation lawsuit is a slam dunk! He'll take 5 mil from KFC's pocket without even breaking a sweat.:blackeye:

I understand what you're saying, but Manny will have to document what he lost. You can't document public opinion, and from what we've seen so far, Manny is more popular than ever. And if haters are buying his fights, how does that hurt him? He's laughing straight to the bank.
pac's lawyers presented some media articles and one of them is an article by rick reeno. i'm not a lawyer so i don't know if excerpts from the media is enough evidence of public opinion but looks like that's what pac's lawyers did.

Part of the strategy is use as a ploy when negotiating testing for potential match up. Also a public apology from Floyd would make him look bad provided that Pac wins. The $$ for the 5 mil is not the most crucial part IMO.
Yes but when news papers print untruths or lies in papers about celebs, the celebs take the papers to court and win damages regularly. Whats the difference here?
I dont think pac would take this to court if victory wasnt garanteed.
I doubt Pac is actually behind this in the first place. It's Arum. Like I said, Pac hasn't lost anything because of these allegations from what I've seen. If he hasn't been damaged he has nothing to win. Period.

But Pac is a popular sportsman. But you cant just lie about someone without evidence. There will be people who have gone off Pac because they think he is on roids because of what the mayweathers have said.
Its not going to enhance his reputation is it? There is never a situation where being accused of being on roids is a good thing.
it doesn't follow...in boxing, even haters will watch your fight because they don't want to be left out to see if and when you get ktfo.

It's far from a slam dunk. Manny has to actually prove that his earning potential and popularity were damaged. From what I saw, Manny had a couple of fights in front of packed crowds at Cowboy Stadium, was elected to represent his people, and was featured on 60 Minutes. 60 MINUTES!!! His reputation was hurt badly, huh? He's not getting anything.

The mayweathers will lose the case, they had verbal runs as far as this is concerned. But is 5 million even that much to them? I dont think they want to lose the case, but its not that bad for them really, other than it being a bit embarassing and giving publicity they dont need.
But in the news a guy has been found guilty of breaking into old peoples homes in the night and sexully gratifying himself on it. That is a worse crime to be known for and more embarassing.
