The history of boxing has its good and its bad. There have been occasions were boxers have admitted to carry an opponent and/or throw a fight. Here are a few examples I came across while searching the web...
I found information on Ike Williams saying he carried a few opponents throughout his carrier. I also found that the technical knockout which Billy Fox scored over Jake LaMotta was also said to be fixed (http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Jake_LaMotta_vs._Billy_Fox).
So with the above said, can any of you think of past or future fights that you believe to be fixed. Any boxing conspiracy theories you know of!?...
Do you think Mosley/Pac could be setup in a way for Mosley to loose (I know I know... most of you have Pac crushing him anyways) so that the Mega fight between Floyd and Pac can happen?
The outcome of De La Hoya vs Sturm seemed pretty much inevitable. There was no way they would have allowed Sturm to leave with the WBO title as it would have took some of the buzz away from DLH-Hopkins.
haha Certainly can't argue against that. Probably the weakest body shot KO of all time!
i wouldnt have de la hoya down as a quitter or diver. he is alot of things, but he aint that
Haye-Harrison was the most egregious I have ever seen
Pac - Clottey/Margarito: Not from PacMan, but I certainly believe that those two bozos were told from The Godfather that they aren't the showcased fighter and aren't there to win. I mean, what promotion can be done with Clottey? He wasn't there to win
ALL OF Saul Alvarez "BIG Fights" So Far!
Hatton didn't even really TRY TO WIN, Baldomir KO looked very suspect to me...it was a reason why they was talking about how "Other Fighters Couldn't KO Baldomir" leading up to that fight and during that fight...to help make Alvarez look impressed...and what do you know...HE SCORES TO KO
Victor Ortiz vs Vivian Harris also looked very "FIXED" didn't even look like Ortiz punches that "KNOCKED HARRIS DOWN" was clean or flush punches besides maybe the 1st one that knocked him down
Pacquiao vs Clottey also looked suspect to me as well, anytime a guy is just standing in front of the other guy and not throwing much punches...IT IS GOING TO LOOK SUSPECT!
also Danny Green last few fights ALL LOOKED SUSPECT!
You know, as I was writing on whether I thought if Mosely can win or not, this ran accross my mind. I hate conspiracy theory but why would they let Mosely win this fight. Pac IS going to fight Floyd. They stand to loose Tens of millions.
What if GBP said that they weren't willing to let Mosely throw the fight and Mosely wanted to because he needed the money.
What if they're all in on it down to floyd and pac. Lord help me.....
Your "theory" makes me laugh. I'll give you another one just as likely. What if Goden Balls WANTED his tho throw the fight and Mosley, because he is an honest guy, with pride in his achievements, refused........
don't forget baldomir also destroyed top welterweight arturo gatti. no one could do that especially not someone like alfonso gomez.
Gatti was never a "top Welter" That was well out of his real weight class.

Jack Johnson used to carry nearly all his opponents, he was so superior to them. You can see, in his old movies, where he hits a guy, catches him when he's on his way down and holds him up until he recovers, so that the fight can continue.
This was often so that the fight would last a respectable distance to give the "cash customers" their "money's worth" of "entertainment"................

It sounds like either delirium, a bad dream, or DT's. With Mosley do many years past his prime, this fight would have no need to even consider being "fixed".
Manny P. can only lose if he walks into "something", like Mayweather nearly did. If Mosley was in his lightweight days, I'd say he could well win.
Byrd Oquendo was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen in a fight. Ever. And Briggs-Foreman was also ridiculous.
those were terrible decisions, but not exactly what I would call a 'fixed fight'.

Fights don't neccessarily need to have been "fixed" to be what they turn out to be. The fighter could just decide not to exert himself, maybe a poor purse, a lousy night out the night before, and other reasons not neccessarily connected wih "fix".
Sugar Ray Robinson, said, that he often had to fight 20 rounds, ten for himself and 10 for his "opponent". and the other boxers with him athe time (whose names I can'tr remember) said , yes, they had also.
THAT, to me, was "FIX". Of course this was when boxing was mafia controlled, a thing we often seem to forget when discussing old time fighters "records" and "victories", and "surprise wins".......etc.
Sonny Liston, in both fights with Ali, was completely mafia conrolled, I think his "control guy" was Blinky Palermo, who went to jail later. (Guys correct me if I'm wrong in the name here)
The Government even "took him away" eventually, and put him in charge of a Catholic priest to try to rehabilitate him, as the mafia at that juncture was at the begining of being on it's way out of boxing.

Whitaker-Chavez...Anytime I see a decision like that and two judges turn in the same scorecard (guaranteeing it a draw) I get suspicious.
maybe the judges hate catch weight fights.
