When Andre Berto KO's Victor Ortiz what will it do for his career?

It's not a win that will put in there as an elite fighter. Ortiz is good, but he's not the type of fighter you beat and then suddenly becomes an elite fighter. I think it'll help his career, obviously, and I agree, I do think he will knock him out.

That's because Berta should be making a name for himself with other fighters that are not at a Cotto or Martinez level..Ya know why??Because Berta is not at that level,he has other belts to get in his own weight class and yet he has fought three Jr WW so far..Has yet to fight a top 5 WW did not rematch Collazo ducked Mosley the list goes on and on..Berta is not Mayweather he calls no shots he needs to fight some decent fights before even speaking Cotto's name or esp Pac.. I disagree dude. The Cotto fight is the right fight for Berto at this point. Mosley too. Callazo rematch not happening was not something you can just blame Berto for. Callazo felt he won which you can make a case for and that made it harder to negotiate the rematch. Plus he is moving up in weight. You guys would complain even more if he went after belt holders like Senchenko and Zaveck and HBO would want no part of it. Quintana was a decet fight and he needs to follow it up. I would feel better about this fight if Ortiz had a fight at 147 first.

He will get credit for beating a top jww, but he'd still be beating a top jww. I like Berto, he's explosive, but his career has stalled. He need to fight the best at 147.

Ortiz has more talent and skill than Collazo I think people always make the mistake of putting talent and skills in the same category..Ortiz might be more talented(has more god giving gifts)but Collazo is more skilled(has more fundamentals)..

HBO and Dibella is ****ing with his career, I mean I will give them that they tried for a manny fight and had mosley signed and ready, but they kept having.him fight these decent names, I mean collazo is good he showed that against Berto, Hernandez had some.nice wins and ko's, regardless what you think of that match up he still ko'd him in one. But you asked th wrong question in your poll, you should ask if it will help his resume, because the kid is already very good, great amateur background, extremely fast hands, one punch power, accurate, good and quick combos, killer uppercut, he lacks the footwork and he likes to bang so he gets hit. Now Ortiz name on their will help his career, but only if he knocks him out. or humiliates over 12. I got more money on Berto, its a style mismatch and Berto is on another skill level, Ortiz could not handle Lamonts speed, Berto is faster and he could not handle Maidanas power and Berto is stronger and hits harder.

I wouldn't go over board but it is always a plus to make the audience go "oh shit did you just see that" A great picture is worth thousands of words. Plus I am a big believer in looking impressive no matter the opponent will always help.

Will Andre become respectable, good/very good, elite? People are sleeping on Dre I expect him to blow out Ortiz very easily. if it happens, then it elevates his career, not by much only b/c many people don't believe in Ortiz. I'd say that he becomes a little more respectable. If I'm not mistaken, this is Ortiz's first fight at the full welter limit. I count that as a small strike against Berto. I still see Ortiz as a good opponent who was bound to move up. He's also a hard hitting southpaw.

Why does Berto fight SMALLER boxers? He has never even once fought a super welterweight. I have no respect for him as long as he keeps padding his record with these smaller opponents. believe it or not Ortiz is not actually "smaller" than Berto. He is a little taller and comes to ring just as heavy. My only issue is that Ortiz should not fight berto at his first fight at 147. If Ortiz wins a fight at 147 prior to this fight the whole perception of the fight is changed.
