Man I'd have loved if this fight had happened ... if Toney had stuck around at cruiser for an extra year or two it may well have - if Toney had just managed to stay in shape and lay off the burgars its hard to see anybody beat him at cruiserweight ...
Haye's not that special without his right hand, and Toney can neutralize just about any right hand and turn it against his opponent with his shoulder roll counter. Haye is not good enough to just dance around and try to outbox Toney. Mabe against bigger slower fighters. James has an underrated jab and eventhough he is flatfooted, he can rope Haye into countering his jab, so he can counter his counter.
Dude was still sharp at 190ish. He would have embarrassed Adamek too.
Toney makes a fool out of Haye
his defense is too good for Haye to bomb effectively
as a puncher, he'd follow Toney to the ropes, miss a lot, eat shots
James Toney would kill David Haye at Cruiserweight. Haye is surely not better than Jirov, whose career was basically ruined by the beating that Toney put on him
Toney was a beast at Cruisweight, which at the time was 190lbs. That was a perfect weight for him, even just at 200 he's was becoming less effective.
flomos-"floyd beats pac without that sh1t in him take the test pac"
