I used to like Kassim Ouma mainly after I heard about his childhood as a soldier and all the adversity he's had to overcome in his life. Was amazing to see him become a World Champion and I really hoped he would reign for a while but obviously it wasn't that long. The last fight of his I actually seen was the Jermain Taylor fight back in 2006. Unfortunately I sort of lost track of him a bit. Just watched the documentary 'Kassim The Dream' and liked it. Felt really sorry for him when he went back to Africa and was crying at his dads grave because he sort of caused his dads horrible death. I laughed when at the press conference he referred to the Ugandan president as "my nig*a".
Anyway just wondering if anyone caught his last fight against Joey Gilbert for the Naba Middleweight belt? Did he look good? Anyone know if hes been back to Africa since the documentary was made in 2008? Any info would be appreciated.
He got robbed against Vanes. I remember reading that ESPN FNF turned him down as an opponent (I forget vs who)...very stupid, he can still compete with top 10 jr middleweights.
I've been wanting to see this documentary. Is it on DVD or streaming online somewhere? I wouldn't mind buying a copy of a DVD if it's for a good cause.
I downloaded it yesterday from this link in Video Trading Block.
All credit goes to Obama for his fine work in producing another great upload!

sweet boxing is the password but it's all 1 word with no space
I always wanted to see a fight between kassim Ouma and Sam Soliman. I think if they were ever to fight that they would set a compubox record for most punches thrown in a fight and in a round between to fighters.
