Wrong. The blame should be put on the fighter and not on the promoter. Its not like GBP knew Nonito was under contract and they illegally recruited him while he was under contract with Top Rank. Nonito's team said Nonito was a free agent and he was able to negotiate with Top Rank. No way GBP signs Nonito if they knew he still had another two years on his contract. Nonito could still end up a free agent, this has to do with GBP poaching him. So I fail to see your point. Plus the GBP argument would be if he is a free agent it is not really poaching.

I don't think that Arum would necessarily drive DONAIRE to the ground. If anything he would capitalize on his momentum, ride his potency because Donaire is now a hot-commodity. It was bad in Donaire's decision not to read the contract and certainly stupid for GBP to sign likewise without going through the contracts without barbed-wires sticking out there. But if Arum would "exploit" Donaire's momentum with big contracts and wins everyone would be happier, me thinks.

FWIW...I just wish Arum would let him go to GBP anyway. Gamboa and Lopez are way more talented than him, and actually have the desire to be great. But Donaire was on medical suspension for more than 300 days in the first year of the contract. Top Rank says there is a clause in its contract with Donaire that adds time onto the contract whenever a fighter is unable to perform because of suspension. That time clause is common in many fighters’ contracts. I know this is foul and most will hate this reply I'm about to give, but If I was Arum (or any promoter in his shoes) this is what I would do: I would put donaire on the sidelines or make him fight 1-2 bums so his momentum dies. I know it's fvkk up but why would you let any promoter capatilize off of the buzz you helped create? Or I might pull the whole, "extend your contract if you want a big name fighter" move that alot of these guys pull. I will say this....no matter what, Donaire deserves what is coming to him. This is the second promoter he tried to burn (Gary Shaw was the first), so I have no sympathy at all for this guy. I know most think Arum is a POS, but anything Shaw is calling you out and questioning your character....then that is a huge red flag and Gary is one of the most stand up guys in the sport of boxing.
