I finally got to view the entire 1st round of the Klitschko vs Solis fight and I have to say that Solis was the first opponent I have seen in years to fight on even terms with Vitali and even landed the cleaner punches. Its a real shame about the knee, which to me was the obvious reason he went down. I understand the Knockdown call by the ref since there was a punch but what I saw was a guy who hurt his knee which cost him the fight. They should do a rematch.
Yes, I agree, I see that weakness to, Klitschko is getting afraid he might kill someone in the ring if he hits them too hard.
Your deluded. Klitschko attacked all the time, Solis made a few little counters which mostly didn't lnad. Klitschko was winning the round.
Again....delusional. As well as being anti Klitschko, whereas I am just an acute observer with NO favourites since Gaspar Ortega, except perhaps Emmanuel Augustus.
I often get so sick of alll the ignorant and obscene DREK posted here that I go off line for days and weeks sometimes and wonder why I still retain my interest in boxing.
Disclaimer: I am in no way a hater of this Klitschko or his brother, they are by far the best heavyweights out there. I am no way saying that Solis would have won that fight or even a rematch.
Now on to edgarg's dumb post
wow you threaten to go away when you disagree with someone, I simply said it looked to me, I acknowledge that it was one very short round, that Klitschko appeared to fight a guy who looked to be effective in what he was doing. Klitschko looked to be not in full control, I think that says something since Vitali has basically not even come close to losing a round in how long? Relax and disagree if you like but no need for insults.
haye took so long to beat harrison. he wouldnt last with vitali
who puts big guys away in less than 2 rounds. add to the fact
that vitali really hates the guy. it will be a terrible beating
i actualyl think vitali would toy with haye for a few rounds
just to punish him rather than knock him out fast
he evne said thats what wlad would do. beat him for 11 rounds
then knock him out in the 12th

I'm sorry I replied to you like that, there are others who deserved it MUCH more. Your post, by comparison, was reasonable.
Again, Apologies.
he does move a bit slower, and awkwardly.
i noticed he didnt lean back much early, normally he leans back as his defense, but he was pretty straight up and even had his head down lower than normal, right in range to be hit.
His punches arent fast, there not sharp, there very sloppy and wild,he punches down very awkwardly.
I just "love" your "expert" criticism. Do you know anything at all about boxing??....I wonder??

There will never be a rematch. Vitali hasn't got time to waste on guys like Solis now. I doubt you will see Solis again -- he's got his money and will eat his way into oblivion. He doesn't even like boxing.
Solis might not like boxing, but millions of Cubans certainly do. If Solis quits after this fight he might as well forget about ever going back home again. They'll never let him forget. Which means he'll be back.
About a minute into the fight, I turned to my brother and said "if Vitali carries his left hand like THAT against Haye, he's getting knocked the f*ck out"
Since Vitali came back, his opponents have been worse than Haye's. Briggs was knocked out by Lewis over 10 years ago, Sosnowski... what a joke. Audley woulda beat both of them lol.
Someone lands a half-assed punch on Vitali and all the haters start frothing at the mouth saying he's finished.
It's beyond desperate. Get back to me when someone wins a round against him, boys, because Solis wasn't and didn't.
Still though, that round by Hide, eh?
Highlight of Herbie's career I reckon. He was looking in ominous form.
THE TRUTH ABOUT VITALI VS. SOLIS
Solis was the greatest fighter of all time (outside of the Klitschko bros, obv)
Vitali cunningly lured Solis into a trap by letting himself get punched
Vitali's punches are notorious for causing ligament damage
Solis would totally dominate every other heavyweight ever to fight, can't stress this enough
Vitali is the greatest fighter ever, there is no blueprint to beat him, he would dominate in every era. Highest KO percentage ever.
"I know he is a gentleman and everybody wants to see a second fight" - Vitali Klitschko
“You talk about me, I am chicken to fight you. That's not true. I bring you dessert on November 12th.” - Vitali Klitschko
“This is our victory,” - Vitali Klitschko

his knee was certainly blown out
but he was on queer street with both legs when he got up.
a top tier boxer should easily be able to stand on one leg (not to fight, just to stand.) solis could not.
i think vitali stands a bit too upright, which makes him vulnerable when guys are able to get very close. mainly with the hook and overhand right.
that comes with being over six and a half feet tall.
he's never going to james toney and roll his way under a hook, or away from a right hand if the guy is close.
he's not that type of an athlete.

Really all I got out of it is what we already should have known going in, that someone with foot and handspeed may be able to take advantage of an aging Vitali who is losing his foot and hand speed. Solis sure as hell wasn't that person, he wasn't going to have a chance even if he hadn't gotten hurt.
