Tough fight to call. JuanMa has freakish power that can easily lay out Gamboa, but Gamboa has amazing footwork and speed. I'm leaning towards Gamboa by TKO.
I actually don't see a big difference at all.
I'm from PR but I think Gamboa will take it..
me either, they looked about the same size, but juanma was a bit taller.
Gotta give this one to Lopez though, i think he's skilled enough to win this fight, if it actually gets made.
I think Gamboa does have some speed advantages, and a great offense, but if people think JuanMa isn't going to touch Gamboa like Solis didn't, they are crazy.
JuanMa hits hard as fukk, and has a nice right hook and sweet straight left hand.
I think if Gamboa gets hit with it early, he's going to be more cautious with JuanMa.
Great fight. I am leaning towards Gamboa, but I don't discount JuanMa at all, being a southpaw with power is always a dangerous risk.
I agree with everything you say. I'm just splitting hairs with your comment about Gamboa having "some speed advantages." I think Yuri is among the fastest fighters in the business. His speed advantage is pretty substantial. Gamboa relies much more on his natural speed, athleticism (another advantage) and aggression than Lopez. JuanMa is a better technician, more accurate and possibly hits harder.
Lopez has the ability to take Gamboa out with one shot. Yuri knows that, and will be much more cautious with JuanMa than many people think. On the other hand, Gamboa has the ability to land a greater volume of punches. An accumulation of hard punches might result in a mid to late TKO. It will be a great fight, if it gets made while both men are at their physical peak. At this rate, they may not meet for another couple of years.
The true question should be, how would Gamboa react when he does get dazed? Could he have a big enough heart to continue a fight after getting hit with a good shot? Juanma has been through that and has come out victorious.
HAHAHAHHAHA..great post. I'm so sick of this weak chinned crap. Dude has NEVER, EVER lost a fight, has a 95% KO% and his opponent tonight just said he hits harder than Pac.
He gets sloppy, so what? As long as he gets back up and dominates...it makes him an exciting guy to watch box. Weak chinned means you get KTFO after one punch.......and I haven't seen anything but dude getting careless at times and coming back to wreck shop. JuanMa on the other hand, has gotten so wobbled that he has had to hold on to survive a fight. Arum won't let them fight because JuanMA can fight nobodies on PPV and make money because of the PR following. If they did fight, We would see the most ferocious Gamboa ever and JunMa would end up on the Canvas 3 or 4 times before a stoppage.
Juanma was out on his feet against Mtagwa, and Vázquez had him watching stars too.
Olivier Lontchi gave him a hard time too. I don't know how these boricuas rate Juanma's chin higher than Gamboa's, but that is wishful thinking.
I think the whole "Gamboa has a weak chin" is ****. You have never seen Gamboa stunned, or dizzy, but you have definitely seen Juanma walking around on Queer street. That is a fact.

Come on guys, to hell with the racist comments, let's talk about this fight. Truth is that styles make fights, whoever lands the first couple of big punches will eventually decide the fate of this fight.
One thing is true, Juanma has been fighting a lot more quality fighters than Gamboa has. I always thought that Rafeal Marquez would have given Gamboa a run for his money, even to the point of probably knocking him out if they ever fought, think about that one. I think Gamboa is a pretty good fighter but I also think he is overrated. I couldn't say the same thing about Juanma but I will admit that he still has a lot to learn. Does he have a weak chin? Well, they both have but it's how you finish a fight that counts.
About Juanma being afraid of Gamboa or vice versa? Come on fellas, when everything is said and done, boxing is ultimately a business, this fight will happen when everything comes together at the right moment. What kind of money do you think these 2 rookies are going to make if this happens now or in the next few months? Get my point? That's why it's so stupid to talk so much smack about racism here.
I really think that Juanma has a better chance on beating Gamboa once the fight goes over 7 or 8 rounds, I think he would be stronger at the end, this is just my humble opinion, I really think Gamboa needs to be tested and I will also go as far as to predict that Gamboa will lose a fight even before Juanma does. Now, tell me what you guys think, of course, leaving the childish racist comments to the side.....:thumbsdow
Fight could go either way considering that both have so so chins. Gamboa has the speed advantage but Juanma is a heavy hitter. Juanma's right hook is deadly and Gamboa leaves himself too open. It will come down to who lands and stuns their opponent first.

Look at the size differece, lol Juanma will smash this fool
Yea just like Cotto/Margarito being bigger than Pacquiao...and look what happened :owned: :haha:.
Gamboa has been down due to being caught off balance but never hurt or stunned... Juanma on the other side... :D Mtagwa and Rafa put Juanma on Queer street. Juanma was looking for the exit in Mtagwa's fight... MTAGWA.
Back to topic.... Juan Manuel Lopez takes out Gamboa. People need to chill out with the Gamboa band wagon. He has a weak chin. JuanMa is a phucking power puncher. Recognize.. Gamboa has been fighting tomato cans. Jeez, relax, people.
All my points on JuanMA when this shyt happens.
So JuanMa has never been down huh?
you should be hung for saying some dumb **** like this. :haha:
I have no problems with the intelligent Klitschko fans or with the cool Puerto Rican posters on this site.
But the ones that turn everything into a race war ruin this place.
