Martinez didn't fight for close to a year after Cintron. He came back with the fight of the year against Williams though. Pirog isn't anywhere near the same level. I'm not saying Sergio wouldn't beat Pirog, but it would be competitive for a good bit of the fight I believe. It was not just the lay-off. Maciel played a part in making the fight as lackluster as it was as well. He was overly defensive for the first half of the bout and gassed a bit in the late stanzas. You also have to consider that Pirog possibly didn't get motivated enough to fight a relative no-name in Maciel.
