Following on from the most respected thread, which nationality is disrespected the most in boxing for whatever reason..
Do you have a particular country where you hate their fighters to do well?
Is there a country where you could never be a fan of one of their fighters?..
I don't think that there's any nationality that gets disrespected. I do think there are some cultures or countries that aren't viewed as good fighters.
Not a lot of Middle Easterners, Indians, Pakistanis that are really seen as good fighters. I know there's been Naz and now Khan but for the most part you don't see many people from that part of the world in boxing, I guess it's just cultural.
That's not disrespect so much as lack of exposure. If people watched more amateur boxing they'd soon see that there's some kick ass dudes coming out of South Asia.

white..and all disrepect is by black people.....double standard..hopkins can say a white will never beat a black....but can you imagine if i say that a lot of black fighters are either in jail or dont have any discipline(kirkland,butler,judah,..etc)..im just saying....
STFU....you sound like a b!tch :boxing:
It does seem that us British fellows do get a bit of a raw deal here, even excepting Haye (who deserves every criticism he gets). Look at Froch, who's finally starting to get some grudging respect, but only after going on one of the most insane runs of tough opponents in recent memory. Before that he was ridiculed for no good reason that I can see save that he often won ugly in close fights. Then there's Hatton who's still called a bum by many people despite the fact that he was an undisputed 140lb chammp who beat beat Tszyu and Castillo and whose only losses came to the current and former P4P no. 1's. Yet you hear idiots talking about him in the same breath as Micky fukkin Ward. Jesus Christ. And then of course, there's Calzaghe whom I can remember defending back in the Lacy days. Time hasn't done anything to dampen the ire of his many detractors since then, and doesn't look like doing so any time soon.
I know a lot of my countrymen can have a bit of a victim complex, and end up looking like paranoid knobends sometimes, but our fighters do get a lot of unwarranted hate. Come on, you 'orrible Yanks, big it up for the Brits! You know you want to!
Fuk Haye though, he's a p*ssy.
**EDIT: Big chunk of my post got lost for some reason.
What the hell has nationality to do with anything. I hate posters who are always repping their country and have usernames and avvys to do with them. :bamad:
Don't follow a fighter based on where they are from, but rather their style, how they fight & conduct them selves. But if we are talking fighters that get disrespected, I think region wise, UK & European fighters have to do 3 times more to gets props.
people who judge fights based on race and nationality are clearly racist..no normal person even thinks like that
Its stupid to pick fights on nationality but nothing wrong with supporting your countrymen
Everyone hates on the Brits because British fighters are taking over the game. There is talk of changing the sports name to Fisty Cuffs because it sounds more British.
lol@ taking over!
sorry im not wired like that..im american and dont root for fighters just cause their american..thats ridiculous
I root for Scottish fighters because we only get one that's decent every 10 years.
boxing has been around since the time of Mesopotamia 1000s of years ago. they invented it.
I hate them damn Liechtensteinian boxers....****ING CORRUPT, GREEDY *******S. **** YOU
