I'm curious to see what peoples answer is.
If Pac's last fight was winning a 'world title' at 154 and Mosley's last fight was at 154 then why isn't Pac defending his new title, instead of fighting at Welterweight? Has this happend before??
I for one think it's horrible matchup to begin with, but why welterweight?
Several reasons.
1. Neither fighter has looked great above 154 pounds. Mosley has struggled against the likes of Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest. Manny Pacquiao had his weakest moments as of late in his only bout at the weight.
2. Pacquiao doesn't have a championship at that weight, so they'd be fighting for a non-existent title. He gave up any title he had once he realized he wasn't capable of making the weight comfortably enough in the sense that his body couldn't acclimate.
3. The only person who MIGHT benefit from this is Shane Mosley. Even though he has fought at the weight more times and struggled, he'd still be more natural at the weight. Pacquiao is a 140-149 pound fighter. He's fine anywhere in this area. Mosley is a 147-150 pound fighter. So, he'd do better at the weight. However, he's not in a position to make a demand on where the fight takes place.
Mosley has wanted this fight. He felt he was willing to lose the extra pounds in order to attain the fight. Pacquiao stated he wouldn't fight above 147. So, there's that.
Simple enough.

dam son :lol1::lol1:
LOL says the guy with Pac on his avatar. Pac's 8th world title should be deleted from the history books.
The question to the thread was not meant to be serious one, so sorry you guys took it so seriously. By all means delete this thread!
VIVA PACQUAIO!!!
Is this to me?
The fighters on my avatar are Timothy Bradley, Anselmo Moreno, and Roman Gonzalez....
Pac is not there at all...
So what are you talking about?
Unless you don't know the difference between an avi and a sig :dunce:

Pacquiao's best weight is 147 and Mosley best weight is 147. Pacquiao doesn't hold a belt at 154 either so this time I don't see a problem with the weight.
so is mosley the only one making 147 and pac aint? idiot just stfu
That seemed to be the case in his last fight (which was where I was originally getting at) so who knows with Pac?
Maybe you didn't notice the winky face..gee that was easy bait. But I guess I better stfu in that case before I get e-bashed by you.
Well what does this say about Pac's historical accomplishment?
Of course he wasn't a title holder at 154..he couldn't even make weight in his own Pacweight!
So why did Pac state recently he can make 154?
Both Pac n Mosley had their last fights on paper at 154, but their next fight is at 147.
Has this happend before?
I se epeople bringing up Mosley being shot n old..but I don't see anyone bringing up that Mosley has to drop weight again at his age!

because he gave it up as soon as he got it...saul alvarez now has it.
mosley will lose either way though, he's done.

simple.
after pac fought margarito at a CATCHWEIGHT (not even full 154 lbs), Pac realized he cannot take the power of punches at that weight and even announced right after the fight that he'd go back to 147.
even Pac's body agreed in that he cancelled his concert for that night and had to be hospitalized the very next day after the fight for severe body pains.
